Okay...to pass time while I wait for tomorrow, I present another possible set-list. Not many of my favorite songs, but interesting none-the-less.

1. The Alien (9:32)
2. The Looking Glass (4:46)
3. Innocence Faded (5:36)
4. Barstool Warrior (6:43)
5. Transcending Time (6:25)
6. Blind Faith (10:29)
7. S2N (6:21)
8. Chosen (4:32)
9. Invisible Monster (6:31)
10. Surrender To Reason (6:35)
11. Sleeping Giant (10:05)
12. Pale Blue Dot (8:52)

13. A View From The Top of The World (20:24)

Total: 1:46:46

I don't think they'd play 3 DoT songs.

I actually think the inclusion here of The Looking Glass is interesting. But I doubt you'd get that and Surrender To Reason.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

I think we'll only get one song from DT (I'm guessing The Enemy Inside) and 2 tracks from D/T (I'm thinking AWE and either S2N or OOR). That's my prediction.

They could since they haven't played The Looking Glass since their tour for the self-titled and I am sure JP and the guys would like to play songs from that album more again.

Yeah, Ben, I think The Looking Glass it's a great pick.

I would also love to see them play Blind Faith, but I feel like it might be a bit too hard on James at this point.

I listened to the album and now I can create a set that is representative of what I would like the tour to be, based on the sound of the songs of the new album. Since time does allow, they can play the entire album....So here's a set with the entire album.

1. The Alien (9:32)
2. Answering The Call (7:35)
3. The Looking Glass (4:46)
4. Innocence Faded (5:36)
5. Transcending Time (6:25)
6. Blind Faith (10:29)
7. Invisible Monster (6:31)
8. S2N (6:21)
9. Chosen (4:32)
10. Sleeping Giant (10:05)
11. Surrender To Reason (6:35)
12. Awaken The Master (9:47)
13. Pale Blue Dot (8:52)

14. A View From The Top of The World (20:24)

I was thinking about which songs from the new album will make it to the setlist, specially considering they won't play the whole thing live at first (they already said that, btw). My bet is that they play 5 new songs = everything except Answering The Call and Transcending Time.
It sounds like, "ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk." Instead of the more pleasing kick drum sound of, "gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk."

I would be very happy with this setlist.

My only change would be playing Sleeping Giant after the SDOIT songs.

I wouldn't mind this at all.

You know what sort of makes me laugh a bit when I see The Glass Prison in set-lists and how much fans want to hear it live. Is it will not be like when they played it with Portnoy, they play to a click and I do not know if they rehearse with the click as well to prep for the tour. If so, then this would be the time to not play the song in album tempo and set it to a good enough tempo to bring out the energy of the song, while also allowing JP to not struggle with the arpeggio section in the intro. If they did play in album tempo, I could hear people complaining about it being too slow, but it is not as that is the correct tempo it is in. Look at Endless Sacrifice on the LNF archives release compared to Budakon.

I personally would love to see them play the whole new record with other songs in between, maybe one from each record they have not played or rarely have played live, and all time classics. I thought this would be an all time greatest set:

The Alien

The Looking Glass

Answering The Call

Panic Attack

Wither

Invisible Monster

Scarred

Sleeping Giant

Our New World

Transcending Time

At Wit's End

*Intermission*

As I Am

Awaken The Master

Take The Time

Hell's Kitchen

Constant Motion

Misunderstood

A View From The Top Of The World

Encore:

Breaking All Illusions

Losing Time / Grand Finale

The Spirit Carries On

Here's a hypothetical situation....

What if the band chose not to play A View From The Top of The World due to time and wanting to play more songs? Now this would be interesting to see what sort of set-list they could possibly come up with. If the new epic isn't played due to time, this would leave out the other epics. What would be the last song? What would be the encore? Given this tour is 2 hours tops, let's make a set without the inclusion of an epic. (You could go further and choose to split up the epic parts, but I doubt the band would even consider doing that, JP seems like a full song or no song sort of guy, based off him not liking medleys).

I’m torn on this. If the set really ends up being 2 hours, I wouldn’t want them to take up 21 min of it for one song, but ONLY if they do another US tour later next year and play it. Otherwise, it’s definitely worth it. But I’ll take a shot at a epic-less set:

The Glass Prison(directly into…)
Answering the Call (I think they have the same tuning? If they do this would be an epic way to start a show)
Invisible Monster
Behind the Veil
Panic Attack
Constant Motion
Sleeping Giant
Surrender to Reason
Lines in the Sand
S2N
Solitary Shell
Awaken the Master
The Alien (I really think this song would work as a great closer for their first tour with this album. It’s epic enough to close out a set IMO, especially paired with AtM)

Encore:
Bridges in the Sky

Jordan just uploaded a couple clips of him playing sections from TCOT. I feel like he does this before EVERY tour and that makes people think it's going to be played and then they don't. Now, the song hasn't been played since 2011, so they could totally bring it back next year, but I don't think there's ever been a tour where they played two (or more) 20 min epics at the same show? AVFTTOTW + TCOT would be an incredible thing for those attending :hefdaddy
It sounds like, "ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk." Instead of the more pleasing kick drum sound of, "gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk."

I highly doubt they'll play TCoT. I think JP is a more shrewd setlist creator than he's given credit for, and I don't think he'd want to play another song from BC&SL considering the last album's tour had the other big song from that album. I could see some of the albums that didn't get any play last time get a song in, and no inclusions from I&W/SFAM (hopefully).

Good point.  I'm hoping for something from ADTOE like Bridges in the Sky - and maybe something from FII (Peruvian Skies or Trial of Tears).

Not only that - even with Evening With shows it would be extremely iffy, but with gigs having an opening act, no way.

I could see some of the albums that didn't get any play last time get a song in, and no inclusions from I&W/SFAM (hopefully).
Yeah, I definitely hope they completely avoid IaW and SFaM on this next tour. They've got 13 other albums to pick from and there's many songs that haven't seen the light of day for quite some time. Only issue I can see with some of them is that JP will avoid picking anything obscure and there are some tracks they'll avoid just because they're probably too difficult for JL to pull off from night to night (unless they start swapping them in and out of the set).
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

I need The Killing Hand.

Oddly enough, I have been lucky enough to see that played (at the infamous Master of Puppets shows in Chicago in '02), yet in nine DT shows since 1994, I have still never seen Learning to Live.  :censored :censored

I've seen it live three times. Twice in '92 and once in '96.

Top 5 DT track for me.

Awesome.  :hat :hat

I can't go that far, but it is pretty damn great.  Light Fuse and Get Away is still the best song from the debut.
