Something that crossed my mind the other day, though I highly doubt will happen, is that since the first leg of the new tour is happening towards the end of the year, specially in December... what are the odds of them adding The Holiday Spirit Carries On to the set? It's not too long so it wouldn't take that much time from the set and it's a really fun song imo :metal
It sounds like, "ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk." Instead of the more pleasing kick drum sound of, "gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk."

I am gonna go ahead and make a setlist based off the fact that there are released samples and I had chance to get a sense of the vibe and feel of the songs (I also took into account the length and the possibility of the samples not completely showcasing the vibes). I am going to use songs that I feel fit the vibe I hear from these song samples and released songs. And for fun, pick some of my favorites they haven't played recently...

---False Awakening Suite----

1. The Alien (would be neat to start with an onslaught) (9:32)
2. S2N (6:21)/ Room 137 (4:24)
3. I Walk Beside You (4:11, based on Score live)/Only A Matter of Time (7:21, based on Live At Budakon)
4. Blind Faith (10:29, based off Chaos In Motion)
5. Awakening The Master (9:47)
6. Goodnight Kiss/Solitary Shell (12:15, based on Live At Budakon)
7. Invisible Monster (6:31)
8. Barstool Warrior (6:43, based on Distant Memories)
9. Stream of Consciousness (10:54, based on Live At Budakon)
10. Answer The Call (7:35)
11. Surrender to Reason (6:35)
---------------------
12. A View From The Top Of The World (20:24)

1:54:27 with S2N and Only A Matter of Time as they are longer songs in the set.

I actually wouldn't mind this set-list even though I don't really enjoy Forsaken and Burning My Soul, but they would be fun in a live setting. Plus, I would be getting Erotomania/Voices and The Ministry of Lost Souls, songs I would also love to see live one day.

Other than most of the new album, here's what I could see happening ideally, in reverse chronological order:

S2N (or Room 137, though I'd guess the former has a better chance)
Barstool Warrior
Surrender to Reason (about time!)
Bridges in the Sky
This Is the Life
Sacrificed Sons (not sure about this one, but seems the most likely OV pick)
Blind Faith (I can keep hoping, right?)
Hollow Years (just a feeling...)
Lines in the Sand (overdue - both of these FII classics were never played with Mangini so far)
Erotomania (it's been almost a decade since they wrote a stand-alone instrumental and Mangini has never played this one live)

That should add up to around two hours. Works for me! With only minimal repeats from the last decade of touring, most of this set would seem quite fresh. And sure, songs like The Glass Prison or In the Name of God are also overdue, but having heard the new album, I would guess they'll try to counterbalance its intensity with more melodic classics. I guess these picks feature the MM era quite heavily, but they've done I&W and SfaM anniversary tours just recently plus the "second half of Awake" set in 2014, so I could really see all these older tunes getting sidelined for this run. And I simply don't think they'll need 'em - the "big" numbers (i.e., the opener, main set closer, encore) of the set may well be new songs this time around.

The new setlist I think will more or less be the below. The only order I feel confident about is that the show will open with the Alien and close with A View from the Top. Also, I could see them omitting Awaken the Master given JP would need to transport a big 8 string for such a small % of the run time of the full show.

1. The Alien
2. Lines in the Sand
3. Invisible Monster (I wouldn't expect this to be played but for the fact that it was released as a single)
4. Transcending Time
5. Sleeping Giant
6. Rite of Passage (not my cup of tea but I could see them doing this)
7. Great Debate
8. Spirit Carries On (I am so sick of hearing this song live but they'll probably play it every show until they retire...wish they would do an underrated song like Out of Reach but I don't see that happening)
9. S2N
10. A View from the Top

Idk, JP may want to showcase the new 8 string to promote sales!  S2N, I hope!! No more Spirit!

The Alien
Sleeping Giant
TOWHTSTS or Only A Matter Of Time
Answering The Call
This Is The Life
Transcending Time

(intermission)

Bridges
Awaken The Master
Surrender To Reason
Lord Nafaryus
Three Days
Out Of Reach
Lost Not Forgotten

The Count (encore)

I probably will edit this post after the album is out. (you know my MO, as MM era centric as we can go (as little of D/T as possible though, too basic), sprinkled with some MP era things they didn't play yet in this lineup, while avoiding most of the MP era pieces I dislike. Oh and no I/W or Met2 era pieces either, because these were played a lot in recent years)

The more I keep pondering, the more I think about Out of Reach being played too. Does the song use a baritone?

btw, my setlist adds up to about 130 minutes of playing time each day (factoring in the switcher positon), so this could even work without an intermission and with an opening act beforehand

The Alien
Answering the Call
Just Let Me Breathe
Erotomania
Voices
Take the Time
S2N
Sleeping Giant
—- ————————
As I Am
Blind Faith
Panic Attack
Constant Motion
Surrender to Reason
Lines in the Sand
Awaken the Master
A View From the Top of the World
———————————
Bridges in the Sky

Based off the snippets, I think this would be a ton of fun. Really upbeat, driving set and 80% of the songs would be new for this lineup to play live.

Same. Both of them deserve a spot in the set (I’m personally hoping for StR more than anything). They seemed to like playing Hollow Years a lot before Mangini joined, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see that pop up soon (although I really hope it doesn’t lol)

I want them to play older songs they haven't played live yet with this lineup instead of the same AIA, TSCO, etc. Also hoping for no SFAM or IAW this time around (love the albums but they've just played those two in full the last couple tours).

I'll try another:

(music from Dune 2021, cause it's an obvious choice)

1. The Alien
2. SN2
3. 6.00
4. Enigma Machine
5. Sleeping Giant
6. Lost Not Forgotten
7. Pale Blue Dot
8. Invisible Monster
9. Surrounded
10. A View From The Top Of The World
11. At Wits End

Encore:
12. Pull Me Under

Okay...to pass time while I wait for tomorrow, I present another possible set-list. Not many of my favorite songs, but interesting none-the-less.

1. The Alien (9:32)
2. The Looking Glass (4:46)
3. Innocence Faded (5:36)
4. Barstool Warrior (6:43)
5. Transcending Time (6:25)
6. Blind Faith (10:29)
7. S2N (6:21)
8. Chosen (4:32)
9. Invisible Monster (6:31)
10. Surrender To Reason (6:35)
11. Sleeping Giant (10:05)
12. Pale Blue Dot (8:52)

13. A View From The Top of The World (20:24)

Total: 1:46:46

I included The Looking Glass as a song from the self-titled as those songs have not really had gotten an opportunity to be played much at all. Also, Surrender to Reason at the end since it's never been played and this would be the perfect time to play it, it'd also add a nice epic feel towards the end of the set.

Innocence Faded, I added in since I heard JLB sing the high part on his cameo (I know this doesn't reflect how it will sound live). I think he is capable of singing this song and doing a good decent job on his worst night, it begins with soft vocals and the only struggle would be that high part, and he could go into his warmer tone for the chorus and bridge after.

I also think they'd want to play some DoT songs as well, and I chose 3. The one that fits the tone of this set and one that would be fun to see again (Barstool Warrior), the song not played (S2N), and the sort of mini-epic to end the set (Pale Blue Dot).

I actually forgot how the Transcending Time sample started but I feel, as this is being labelled as the Rush song, would fit between the more Rush like tunes of Innocence Faded, Barstool Warrior and The Looking Glass.

Blind Faith for a nice nod to 6DOIT.

Chosen would be awesome for them to pull out again as something to represent The Astonishing. It's a ballad I consider their best, and would be a nice slow breather for the band, while also being a great lead into Invisible Monster.

I also forgot how Sleeping Giant's sample sounded like. But since this is the tour representing the album, I decided on 4 songs to include in this set. Their next longest track Sleeping Giant would be great to include at the end, right before the closing epic-like sound of Pale Blue Dot (which I think would be a neat way to keep an epic feel to set up the big new 20-min epic, it'd build up that anticipation).

I really do hope they play Awaken The Master though. That groove in the sample was awesome and would be quite energetic live.

I hope its longer than 1 hour 46 mins.   :'(
