The IQ Cup - Groups C & D - Round 1

Time for the songs in Groups C and D to kick off their tournament. Your matchups are:

Wow...there were some REALLY hard ones here.

Closer over Drive On - Closer is the better song.  But I have a soft spot for Drive On, so it was hard voting against it.

Infernal Chorus over Failsafe - Both great additions to Subterrenea.  I like IC a bit better

Awake and Nervous over The Sense in Sanity - pretty easy

No Love Lost over The Wake - This might seems like madness to some, but I absolutely ADORE No Love Lost.   And there's a Nicholls performance on YT that's pretty awesome.   Of all the PL tracks, this sounds the most like it could have been a single from Nicholls.

Further Away over Seventh House - AARRRGGGG trying to choose between these was almost physically painful.  But Further Away might be my all time #1 IQ song....but I'll probably change my mind before the end of the week.

Through My Fingers over Through the Corridors - I've been enjoying the PL albums so much more than I thought I would that I want to throw them some love where it's warranted.   This seems like a good opportunity.

Guiding Light over Fire and Security - Another difficult one.  Resistance is still growing on me and GL is more familiar right now.  Next year it may go the other way.

Erosion over Corners - This one was pretty easy

War Heroes over 1312 Overture - Also fairly easy. 

Oceans over The Thousand Days - TTD is good, but this was another slam dunk.   

Passing Strangers over Laid Low - since LL is only an interlude, this was easy

Wurensh over Human Nature - WWWHHHYYYYYY did you have to pit the two PL epics against each other right out of the gate???  Another situation of just being a bit more familiar with Wurensh than Human Nature (I've been spinning and enjoying AYSC more than Nomzamo).

Further Away vs Seventh House was just unfair...two top five IQ songs for me, but Seventh House is my favorite song of all songs.

Yeah, some monster matchups here already. Also voted for The Seventh House but could've gone either way there.
