Hmmm, other Canadian bands other than Rush? Shoot, I don't know that many other ones.

I guess I will say Nickelback (somewhat unironically). They do have some good tunes. I would say Three Days Grace, but they are not the same anymore without Adam Gontier.

Definitely Voivod. These guys have had a HUGE impact on my perception of what is musically viable or desirable. They've gone through many phases of their sound but have always put out something unique and interesting. The last album "The Wake" is absolutely killer. An amazing piece of work.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor would be my favorite by a mile. Neil Young is also someone I rate highly but considering it says bands I wouldn't say it's a fair mention even if you include Crazy Horse.

The only other Canadian BANDS I know (excluding solo artists) are

Nickelback -- I bought the album with How You Remind me and really like that song. I don't dislike the rest of it, but it never clicked with me.

Saga -- Only really know On the Loose, which got heavy play in the early days of MTV. I've recently read some stuff that makes me want to dive into their catalog, but that hasn't happened yet.

Barenaked Ladies -- Their theme song for Big Bang Theory was really good, but I don't know anything else.

Maybe there are a couple others, but I can't think of them.

If you want to get into Saga, I suggest you'll start with their first 5 studio album and In Transit (that's a live album and the first fully digital recording ever)

It's basically a band with the same members and songwriters across a few albums. I'll let Wildranger pull me up if it's not allowed.

Although, The Tea Party would actually get my vote. Harem Scarem a good one too.

I need to get into Saga, it seems.

I'm sure Chad and myself can attest, If you listened to Canadian rock radio in the mid 90's, you are extremely familiar with Our Lady Peace. Their first album was very good but I found things changed with their second album and they were clearly going for a mainstream radio sound. I would say that the song Supermans Dead was probably the most played song on the radio and Much Music in 1997. I'm not sure how big it was outside of Canada, but it was huge here. Speaking of Canadian rock, I should also mention in 1997 I saw Big Wreck play in a small bar. The opening band, in front of maybe 50 people was Nickelback. This was about 6 months before they made it huge.

Not sure how many 'bands' I can rhyme off that anyone (other than jj and possibly Brent) would know that haven't already been mentioned. Rockhead was one I loved, but only had 1 album. Here's the rest... mostly of a 'classic rock' ilk.
