Yeah, I caught that. I’m now more confused, and stoked.  This looks more mind blowing than Inception.

Eh. I mean, I hope it's fantastic. But, and based solely on the released information, this seems to be his most pretentious thing yet.

I'll totally go see it in IMAX since he's earned all the respect in the world, but I'm a bit skeptical.

How so?

Personally I'm super hyped for this and I'm actually soooo happy we don't have the plot details revealed yet or how the 'time travel' (inversion?) mechanic will actually work. I feel like with almost any other director, this second trailer would have had an elaborate explanation like "this is how this power works and this is how you use it". I'm actually hyped we will get to see it in the movie and figure out then. :p

Oh no. I know better than to discuss pretentiousness with a Nolan fan. I enjoy his movies. He is a brilliant filmmaker. I don’t think he handles many characters as well as he does plot, but I feel like he is trying to get so intellectual with his plots that it’s coming off as pretentious to me. Happy to be wrong. I am excited to see this in theaters for sure and if no one else thinks it’s pretentious, that’s awesome.

Loved his early work from Momento to Inception.  Since then though I wasn't that keen on either TDK rises or Dunkirk and I hated Interstellar.

Inception is his masterpiece.

His new DOP is so bland.

But I’m looking forward to TENET.

I'm still trying to figure out how the theaters are all still closed but they started advertising ONLY Tenet on TV a couple weeks ago?  Advertised as out in theaters.

This movie was being pegged as the industry savior/reviver of all things theater going... looks like its release date is being pushed to "indefinite", at least for the US. Word is that it may be screened around the world first and then make its way to the US.

Here in Ontario, movie theatres are part of the phase 3 re-opening that limits indoor gatherings to 50 people.  That's for the entire facility - the entire movie complex... not each individual theatre.  You'd think they would adjust it to be based on at least the square footage of a facility - like 500,00 square foot casinos can only have 50 people in them... but so can a 2000 square foot mini-mart.

 :omg:

I've booked to see this in an actual cinema on Friday 28th !!! The screening will be sparsely booked and I have to wear a face covering but I don't give two shirts.

I wanna see this on the big screen. Not on Netflix on my crappy little 17" TV.

What I get from the reviews is that it has the same feel as Inception but it's obviously not as good as that film.

It's still great because it's still Chris Nolan. But it is a *touch* Nolan by numbers.

Still has the Nolan precision and spectacle though. No review I read said it was 'bad' though.

I just wish Wally Pfister came back to DP. Or at least get Roger Deakins. I don't like his new guy.

Interstellar and Dunkirk were so washed out colour wise compared to Inception's warmth.

Even the snow scenes in Inception had warmth. Every film with Hoytema just seems cold and grainy.

That's my take too.  Visuals and action are the positives,  dry Characters and a thin plot are the negatives.  Characters have generally been Nolans weak point in my opinion.

Agree about the pallette being too grey as well it's like f**cking David Yates is involved.

Since inception it’s like his films use a camcorder for how grainy and cold they are.

He just needs that constant “wwwhhhhhhh” wind sound you get from all domestic video cameras 😝

Just booked this for next Saturday at midday. Picked my favourite theater and the movie is in English with Russian subtitles. Now I've got something to look forward to at the end of the week. Hyped for this. The safety precautions seem adequate (masks are required and no one sits next to each other) so I'm alright with this.

COUPLE OF SPOILERS !!!!  ( Also potential plot holes... )

1. Ok - When The Protagonist gets inverted the first time - he drives a car yet R. Patz says that Fire freezes in Inverted time - so fuel should not even ignite and he shouldn't be able to drive.

You could argue that it's only The Protagonist that is inverted and not the car - but the fire which Sator creates from the leaking fuel ignites at first then freezes.

2. The indian arms dealer ( Priya? ) said that you should never interact with your inverted self as it would be catastrophic... HOWEVER - she may have been lying in the hope that

The Protagonist never inverted as she knew he would go on to form TENET.

3. So - when you invert - you can't simply select a date like a normal fictional movie time machine - you literally reverse time for you at that point and you literally

have to live time in reverse until your desired time and then un-invert ?

I have a few more but on the whole I liked it a lot - really cool vibe. The score was creepy as shit and the visuals were nice. I'm definitely going again. :-)

Okay I loved this. I had high expectations but this movie blew them out of the water. I didn't fully understand what's going on in some moments but overall I thought this was fantastic. The movie is also cinematic as hell, Nolan really knows how to do this. The final sequence is just incredible. Man, I wish I could rewatch it right now. Recommended it to all of my IRL friends as soon as it was over.

I'll probably go see it again which is something I never usually do.
