How was Hoobastank live?  I loved their first 3 albums.

I loved them. Saw them three or four times back in the 2000s. That show in 2002 was right after the first album came out, and they played all twelve songs, plus a few others (I think they were B-Sides to the album, but I don’t know because I hadn’t heard them yet.) And I totally agree with you, the first three albums were so good. They lost me at For(n)ever, and although the fifth album was pretty good, I never went back after that.

But they were one of my favorite live acts during my college days.
I don't want MP playing with DT unless they were making a drummer change. If they let MM go and bring back MP, then fine, but no guest appearance please.
WELP.

:lol The Astonishing was totally awesome live and also deserves to be in the list of reasons you hate me. :)

I'll confess to not really liking the PoS set - but I enjoyed the instrumental a good bit.

The Green Carnation set was the big surprise for me - I had the album, thought it was great, thought the show would probably be great, but it still blew me away.  I really have a lot to thank ProgPower for.

I hear you on TA, but I just really don't care  ;D

That GC album frequently makes it onto all time top lists for a reason. I can only imagine how much they love to play it live.

Regarding Green Carnation, I think the live performance was even better than the album.  And the album is great.  This was just - a totally immersive experience.

I've seen 4 albums in full at a live show...

Dream Theater - The Astonishing (2016)
Dream Theater - Images & Words (2017)
Blind Guardian - Imaginations From The Other Side (2016)
Angra - ØMNI (2018)
Labyrinth - Return To Heaven Denied (2018)

I would count Lorenguard's Eve of Corruption but the only song they left off the set was the ballad Embrace. Otherwise they played the entire damn thing

Next year I'll add Magic Never Dies by Power Quest to the list

Dream Theater - The Astonishing (twice)
Dream Theater - Images and Words (three times)
Dream Theater - Scenes From A Memory (twice)
Iron Maiden - A Matter of Life and Death
Blind Guardian - Imaginations From The Other Side
Angra - Omni
IQ - Ever
Blink 182 - Enema of the State
Less Than Jake - Losing Streak
Reel Big Fish - Turn Off The Radio
Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Let's Face It

out of order:

Sons of Apollo - Psychotic Symphony
Offspring - Smash
Incubus - Make Yourself (twice)

I feel like I'm missing some, maybe not.

Also not sure if this counts: Geoff Tate - Operation Mindcrime

and this is coming up in January: Epica - Design Your Universe

I had no idea they played an entire album. Guess I'll add that to my list.

Edit: realized when I saw Mikes re-edited post, lethean was talking about Labyrinth.

I did not see their entire set, same with Sanctuary this year.  I forget which band I went to their signing session during Labrynth's set.  Maybe SOA.

I got a few really good pictures of them from the start of the set when I was up front. And then I met half of them later :) very cool guys. The acoustic show was omg.

I don't really remember much of their set though.  I have my recording of The Night of Dreams but I know I didn't watch enough of the set, nor did I know their music at all, to really say I saw this album.

They were pretty good though, if I didn't want to do the signing session I would have watched the rest of the set.  It just they weren't a band I was familiar with so I made my choices.

SPOILERS:

It won't be the full album unless they change the setlist up though which is certainly possible.

Oh shit you're right.  I just skimmed the setlist when they first started the tour and it looked like the whole album, but... its not. UGH I was excited for the whole thing although White Waters was never a song I really liked.

That's fine  :lol  I don't view this as a competition just what I feel is the reality and I'm not going to lie to myself.  Looks like we all will see a couple more albums performed in full at PP next year (unless we wonder off).  I've actually got to start listening to those two albums to see how I feel about it.

Stratovarius - Episode (full album in one go, but in mixed order)

Random and tangential thought, since playing a full album is one of the new cliches, I like when bands switch it up and adapt the tracklist to the set. A good album tracklist might not be a good live setlist, and since you already know which songs you're getting, knowing also the order kills all the surprise. Every album order is different and I think it's a smart thing to do adapting it to the flow of a live show, unless it's a concept album that tells a story of course.
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

I think it depends on the album and mixing up the order would be downright sacrilegious in cases where the tracklist is perfect already, but the way they used the title-track as the intro and opened with Speed of Light worked nicely.

Yeah, it depends on a case by case basis. I remember Metallica played the black album in reverse order, and I guess it works to end up with Sad But True and Enter Sandman, but they also played Ride the Lightning in reverse order. WTF? why would you start that section of the show with a bigass epic and close it with a perfect opener? the album order was perfect! opener, fast song, mid tempo, slower one, other stuff, one of their most famous and acclaimed songs and finally the kickass instrumental epic. I wonder who though the reverse order was a nice idea for that album.

Static-X had the album closer, December, as the intro tape since it's a more electric song. It worked perfect as a setup into the first song, Push It.

Dance Gavin Dance, I don't know why they put Inspire The Liars as the closer when they played it in sequence.
