My picks are Tornado of Souls and Polaris.

I think this album showed that Marty Friedman is one of the best 'shred' guitarists. His guitar work is brilliant. TOS has one of the best guitar solos in metal. Mustaine's guitar work is great too.

From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

Take No Prisoners
Hangar 18

Though I accidentally played the remastered version of Take No Prisoners and it's the worst shit I've heard, it turns the song from an 8/10 into a 5/10 legit, it's that much worse

Marty sure paid his dues during the early part of the 1980's and I'm glad he was able to achieve some financial payback. I might vote for Black Cat or Desert Island if they were listed.

I went with Tornado of Souls and Rust In Peace...Polaris.  But I could have easily gone with Hangar 18 in place of the latter.  And, for the record, I don't need the "besides Holy Wars" caveat.  I probably would have made these choices even if Holy Wars was in play.  Pretty much everything on this album is great.  I'd put Take No Prisoners and Poison Was the Cure as merely "good," but everything else is stellar.

And the reply itself allows me to write what I would have commented!
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

Hangar 18 and Tornado Of Souls.
This for the win!
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

People really like Hangar 18 that much? The first half is cool but the second part is beyond boring with the endless solos.

This.  The recurring solos at the end are the best part.  :2metal:

Lucretia and Tornado of Souls.

Pretty sure that would be Marty Friedman’s answer...and he’d be correct lol

I think this album (and band) is overrated and I voted Hangar 18 and Poison was the Cure. Holy Wars would have been my pick instead of Poison if it were in the poll (which, for the record, I think you should have put in, because assuming beforehand that it would be everyone’s favourite frankly doesn’t make any sense whatsoever).
Hey dude slow the fuck down so we can finish together at the same time.

Love this album because the great stuff is GREAT but , if I'm honest , I skip half of it every time I listen.

Like most..............Hangar 18 and Tornado of Souls .

Five Magics and Lucretia

Five Magics was the song that really got me into Megadeth, the original version is much better than the Remastered  :metal

Tornado of Souls and Rust in Peace...Polaris.

I really wanted to pick Hangar 18, but had to go with those two.  The title track is so underrated - the riffs in that song are huge.

This album for me is start to finish amazing and I feel like not one note on it is wasted. I don't have a favorite track of this album and they keep rotating, but if I had to pick two it would definitely be Tornado of Souls and Hangar 18 just for those ridiculous solos.
