I didn't send links to the lyrics - two of my submissions do not have them posted anywhere on the interwebz that I could find.

Damn faizoff... nice concept and writeup!  :tup  Really looking forward to spinning this - which I'll do tomorrow morning.  I know Warsong (naturally), think I've heard that Sherinian track, but the rest is net new to me.

Given your concept, I think you might like this album released a couple months ago.
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

Seems like a cool story Faizoff. :)

Thanks for the feedback guys. Jingle, will check that album out thanks for sharing.

I still maintain what I told TAC .The whole thing feels very hokey and contrived after reading it out loud .glad I'm not a writer.  ;D

Cool writeup faizoff.  I did something similar by referring to certain lines as part of the story but a bit loosee than that.  I did a story then a breakdown of how each song relates to the story and some lyrics.  I like how you've done it here though.

2099

The world as everyone knew it ended that year. Those who survived passed down stories of the sky suddenly turning black, eyes peering down from the darkness, and a blinding flash of light, followed by the world being shaken and scorched. It became commonly accepted that a meteorite had hit the Earth, plunging it into decades of winter and triggering the extinction of the vast majority of life on the planet. Some humans managed to outlast, albeit barely. [Black Future]

2144

While the nuclear winter brought about by the cataclysm had ended, life was hardly any easier. Many small civilizations had risen up, sustained by pillaging, slavery, and the strong keeping the weak in line by any means necessary. Resources were minimal, and it seems like humanity wouldn’t be able to last much longer unless drastic measures were taken. In the shadows, those at the very top of this new world rounded up the humanity’s best remaining scientists and engineers and resumed development on Project Exodus, a secret project that had begun even before the world had ended. Their mission: to leave Earth behind, terraform Mars, and begin a new existence on another planet. [Planet B]

2187

Project Exodus ended up being a massive success… for the privileged few who were able to see the benefits of it. Mars was successfully colonized, and compared to how things were on Earth, it was essentially paradise. Those who had spearheaded Project Exodus lived lives of luxury on Mars, and others were allowed to immigrate there as well, if they were able to pay for it. Those who did not have the wealth necessary were denied entry, and left to live in filth and squalor back on Earth. Many tried to travel to Mars without approval, but any unauthorized ships were swiftly shot and destroyed by the colony’s anti-aircraft weaponry. For those that remained on Earth, life on Mars seemed like a dream that could never become a reality. [Mars For The Rich]

2195

Over time, a resistance on Earth grew stronger and stronger. Rebels were eventually able to build a ship with firepower to match even that of the Mars colony. As the ship lifted off and approached the planet’s atmosphere, everyone on board had one clear goal in mind: take Mars by force, overthrow those in power, and open up the colony to all ships from Earth. [Perihelion]

Approaching Mars, the rebels received a transmission from the surface. They were ordered to turn back immediately, or they would be shot out of the sky. In response, the rebels demanded that the colony disable their anti-aircraft weaponry, or they would be forced to take offensive measures. The transmission is cut, and the rebels began powering up their cannons. As expected, diplomacy was not an option. [Good L_ck (Yo_’re F_cked)]

The colony’s initial attack on the rebels was completely negated by the ship’s energy shield. In an unexpected display of power, the ship shot a barrage of laser blasts down to Mars, destroying the anti-aircraft weaponry as well as everything around it. Those in power cowered in fear as their opposition rained death down from above. After a short but intense battle, the colony was left with no option but to surrender. [Laser Cannon Deth Sentence]

2196

The rebels succeeded in taking control of the Mars colony, and promptly opened it up to anyone from Earth who could make the journey. Little by little, ships came and rejoined with the rebels on their new home. The people of Earth had taken a massive step towards prolonging their existence, but would it be enough? Hope grew among mankind, but uncertainty still lingered. [Rejoin]

2270

Few on Mars remained. While the quality of life was good for the first handful of years after the rebels had taken the colony, resources began to dwindle, disease crippled the population, and society began to slowly collapse under the weight of time. The situation back on Earth wasn’t any better. The death of mankind began to accelerate, until a moment came when only one human remained. Completely alone, that person accepts their death, and the extinction of all of humanity. [Collapse]

? ? ? ?

In another plane of existence, the lingering souls of the now extinct humans fester. Slowly but surely, they begin gathering into a singularity. Is it gravity? Is it some force behind human comprehension? The souls would not be able to understand even if they were still able to think. All they can do is gather closer together, to create a massive collection of energy. Suddenly, a portal rips open in the fabric of space and time. Through it, the giant ball of destruction formed by the souls of humanity is sent hurtling towards some planet in a distant galaxy far from where Earth ever was. Another planet to be destroyed. Another step towards the eventual end of the universe. As the extinction of one race finishes, the extinction of another begins. [Hell]
