I don't think my best/worsts really bode well for my results... I was afraid to include the Labyrinth track because it might not be heavy enough, and now it's the best one.

Kamelot being the worst should really be no surprise.

The Labyrinth tune is awesome.

The Kamelot was a gamble (but like I mentioned, even people who don't like them seem to like that song, so I thought it was a good opener).

But I was surprised by the Labyrinth being first. I wonder how the song jingle sent did.  That's a great song too.

Don't tell me Tim didn't like March of Mephisto. Tim, re-calibrate your tastes.  :loser:
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

I was given MoM in my fopinion rest roulette, as my exposure to Kamelot. I'm amazed I dove any further into them.  I've come to appreciate the track now, but Tim's impression is completely understandable to me.

Year Zero being last has me worried about picking Cirice as my double points song, though I do think that one's a good degree better. Hopefully they aren't the "one of the bands is a complete miss...everyone should know I don't like this vocalist" impression.

They are not. They are they "overrated band" impression. ;D

Well that's a... marginal improvement :lol

Also I'm amused at you getting Stormlord despite sending them in my roulette.

I've let a few things slide that didn't make the banned list. Stormlord was mistakenly left off my iPod list. I bought their latest album, and like it. I'm not familiar with their back catalog. This song is from an earlier album. So I allowed it.

In fact I know for a fact that I will be getting a band on an EP in the next round that I know I've sent to someone else. But they have a big catalog, and I have one of their earlier albums. They're not on my iPod, so they didn't make the Banned List.

So since the final round is supposed to be a concept round, I had to do some minor editing for the sake of flow and cohesiveness. I hope that is fine.  :|

It won't be soon. I haven't started even started writing yet. Depending on how inspired I get, this could be a long one. I think the basic concept I came up with is a really cool one and hopefully you will enjoy it. Fair warning, it's sort of Sci-Fi-ish, but not in a super hero/comic book/star wars/trek/gate/dungeons and dragons kind of way. It's more of a journey of self discovery. Eh, you will see once I send the story.  :corn

I've got my first draft for the final round ready. It's kind of a hot mess and TAC will probably only enjoy around half of it but creating an EP based around a story is hard for someone who hardly ever pays too much attention to lyrics. :P

So, I pretty much have most of the scoring done. I'm working on awarding the bonus points.

I'm reading through some of the PMs that were sent me, and this was part of K-Lox's and it cracked me up.

Lol @ Kat's writeup.

TAC, will you be sharing the writeups for only the final round? I'm curious to hear some of the thought process behind people's choices for previous rounds.

So, I don't have any past rounds PM's anymore. I keep the current round pretty much until it's over, and then I clear out my inbox.

Round 1 had a pretty quick turnaround, and the female round was self explanatory. But Round 3, and even moreso for this round the PM's are far more descriptive. I'm going through them, and will likely delete them all tomorrow night in anticipation of the final round. I'm fielding a lot of questions regarding bands and such, so I'm trying to keep my inbox as streamlined as possible.

I repeat...@ Stadler

Do what I do and just quote a PM and reply back and then it gets saved to your sent messages folder which apparently can be infinite.

I mean mine has 14 songs but yeah, 19 is impressive.

But it also depends on my chances to win this whole thing, if I'm close to the first place after this round, I may cut two calmer songs Tim probably won't like. If I'm more than half a point away, I'll keep it as is and enjoy my 14/20 for the final round.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

So.... does concept HAVE to be a "story"?   I don't have a story per se; I'm going with more of a clever (I think) theme as opposed to a narrative story.

Also, hint taken, box cleaned.

I can't speak for Tim but for me personally, I think a concept album needs to have a narrative, but that narrative doesn't have to be a story with characters. A theme can have a narrative flow with a beginning and end (which I'd call a concept album) or just be songs about the same topic (which I wouldn't).

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.
