The difference is the real operatic vocals in Pandemic. That, I'm not crazy about. Weak Fantasy is more straight ahead. And I would've never guessed it was the same person.

would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Genuinely stunned I'm doing this well. I expected much worse! You're gonna hate the next one!

Bet you an avatar he hates mine more.

I still got yours ready for times like these. Bet taken!

That's also the visual representation of my score for Round Two.

I'll send something today.

Okay yeah maybe tomorrow instead, I've put my first draft together but I need to listen to it at least one or two times.

Edit: yeah, just realized Primordial is banned, the first draft definitely won't work.

Maybe I'm a little sleep deprived and missing something about how the scoring works, but how does my mostly 8/8.5 EP get the same score as Stadler's "parts of this are really bad" EP with 7s and stuff?

Glad you liked most of it better than I thought you would though.  I thought Oceans of Slumber probably needed to pick up the pace more for you to like them, but I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best.

It's the additional bonus point Stadler got. The bonus points really are the dealbreakers in this roulette. I'm behind Kade, losing by 1.1 point, guess why? He got an additional bonus point and I didn't. Our EPs were 0.3 points apart and with a similar vibe, and that's why he got a bonus point. With the scoring system being the average songs score from the EP out of 10, it's inevitable that the whopping 1 point would make a lot of difference.

I'm not complaining though, this is a lot of fun. :)

Also I decided that hey, screw overthinking, and just sent my EP. Lethean, you're probably going to like it a lot. TAC, on the other hand, not so much. :lol

It's the average score out of 10, multiplied by 2, so the  bonus point doesn't hold quite as much weight as you make it out to be but it does still hold a lot of weight yeah

I forgot about the multiplication. :lol In my defense, I really didn't sleep much lately. It's still pretty big though yeah, especially considering that even the most "oof" songs ended up getting a 6.

1 point out of 20 is a 5% improvement.  All four players ahead of me and Lethean in this round got a bonus point; and Stads just tied with us because of it.  It's a meaningful difference.

:lol Sorry to single yours out in particular - I just noticed it after I'd expected to do better the last time because the scores were so much better.

For the next round, I already submitted my EP last week, but now I'm second-guessing it. I actually ran it by a couple people to make sure it fit the theme and they agree that it did, but I don't know, I'm having doubts. I'll think it over tonight and see if I think I should make changes.

I hope it includes Katatonia. :) There's a band that you probably sent that I was thinking about sending and didn't. But now I'm totally overthinking and maybe I'll edit my EP and include them as well.

Didn't you already use Katatonia? You can't use the same band twice!

No, but Evermind can use them. :) He said I'd like his EP, so that was just a little wishful thinking on my part. ;)

The other band that I mentioned is not Katatonia. :P

Probably not. I don't really either, but this time I just wanted an outside perspective.  Non forum people, "hey does this song/these lyrics fit emotion X" kind of thing.  (I asked Kattelox about one song too.)  But I don't know, I was reassured but now I'm thinking TAC will be like "these songs don't make me feel X, no points for you."
