man round 2 is so much easier than round 1 in terms of putting together something, i'm already pretty much done after like 10 minutes of looking at songs

Yeah, I had about 3 hours of material that I came up with that I had to whittle down. That was the hardest part, figuring out what to cut.

Some fun facts:

Most Ridiculous Song Title Award goes to Wolfking…..Frost Hammer

Sounds like a title right off of Slappelox's iPod.

Most Awesome Song Title Award goes to Cyril….Throat Of Winter

3 People sent me Agalloch - Falling Snow
3 People sent Wintersun
1 Person sent Katatonia  ;D

2 people sent me songs sent to me in my previous roulettes. They were both sent by people who didn't participate, so I knew it was in good faith.
I thought I'd share their previous respective writups:

The good news...

"WOW! That’s all I have to say. I’ve seen ****** mentioned a lot around here, but have never checked them out. This is out of my comfort zone, but it’s an incredible song. Starts out nice, and then the ******* parts starts and it’s a 4 minute eargasm that follows. Amazing. Might be my favorite 4 minutes of the whole roulette."

….and the bad news..

"I'm not sure what the point of this song was... I've gotten a couple of songs now by ********, and despite the fantastic band name, I've been unimpressed. I do plan on dropping the needle on them because I feel like there's potential there, but this song ain't it."

OK, considering I have about 75 bands, Hangman will likely be in Bands only. I'll get that posted tomorrow night after work.

I'll post the songs once the bands are solved.

I'm on a good pace. I've heard everyone twice except for the three I received today. Started my notes so writeups won't be such a damn bitch.

Very cool feedback. I was actually thinking of using The Throat of Winter by Opeth in my EP originally, should've stuck to it.

Two things...
1. I didn't say the song was any good, but that it just had a awesome title, and
2. It's not Opeth.

the song isn't any good, then?  :metal

anyways, was able to figure out both of those snippets thanks to DTF's vaguely-functioning search system  :P
Anathema and Obsidian Kingdom, if you're wondering. I don't know why or how the Obsidian Kingdom song fits the theme at all.

There's an advance search option feature - can search by thread title as well as by user. Also, use quotes for multiple words.

That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

I was just wondering earlier today how many other people sent Falling Snow. I'm glad that some of you have good taste

except now I think I definitely should have used Limbs as part of my 'seasonal transition' idea. god dang it bobby

You know how long I agonized over the various Winter Stratovarius options? Winter. Break the Ice. Before the Winter. Winter Skies. Cold Winter Nights.  And not one song about spring or autumn and maybe one that mentions summer. Everybody in Scandinavia is fucking depressed. :lol

i almost sent that song but i didn't think TAC would care for three minutes of drum + ambient build

Kattelox, I'm disappointed in you.

You know I'm not crazy about Katatonia and have never ever sent them in a roulette right? Maybe when you see what I sent you'll understand and be like, "Oh, yeah, duh, no wonder."  :lol I did consider that song though. Briefly.

Also not gonna lie I knew you would send them so I didn't bother.  :lol
