I think I'm almost done with rounds 2 & 3 and have laid the groundwork for round 4, this is a really cool game. I should've looked into these roulette threads before, it's forcing me to think a lot about the music I listen to and contextualize them differently.

Announcement!

Obviously I have a lot of classic rock and popular bands not on the banned list.
I'm thinking bout the next round. Obviously Heart is not on the banned list, so they're fair game. But please find a deep track if you are going to use them. Anything on the radio should really be left off limits. So no Barracuda, Magic Man, Alone, etc...

Wonder who that was directed towards?

That's cool. Roulettes are a great way to discover new music, and actually, you can rediscover your own music. That's a great side benefit.

Me, I personally treat roulettes as a way of interreacting with people.

I'm glad you're enjoying yourself so far, but really, nothing has happened. :lol

So I literally just sent Sacul a PM about this not being the Roulette to send late in, way too many moving parts, but damn, his inbox is full.

Full of course of roulette hosts looking for their songs no doubt. :lol

That said, I'd really like to have everyone in by Sunday morning. I'd like to prepare a hangman on Sunday.

There will be a shit-ton of underscores; Evermind and Parama will solve most everything.

For this roulette? No idea! :lol

Usually, to kill time while the host is listening, we'll play hangman to guess the songs and artists.

It may depend on where I am as far as my listening goes. There'll be 9 hours of music to get through.

I've got my first listen done to the first 8 EPs sent so far. First Impressions as I go.

Starting a second listen tonight. Not going to get very far though.

I'm hoping to swing thru my possibilities tomorrow.  Given the (confirmed) holes in your banned list, I think I know which season I have to go with.

Paprika all the way baby.

I think I just might have it.  Gotta have a listen to it in the morning.  It's too bad you loosened the rule on allowing bands to be used in subsequent rounds - cuz I guaran-damn-tee I'd be rock-blocking someone - or a few someones - with my opening track.

Haven't had time to dive in properly yet but have had some initial thoughts about the first two EPs (definitely have some good options for round 2 that I think/hope you'll dig!). Hoping to have the first one sent to you later today, but tomorrow at the latest.

Tim, not sure if you mentioned it but does the EP have to have different bands or can we put 2 or even 3 songs from the same band?

He posted earlier but it got lost in the conversation  :lol I used 2 songs by 2 different bands in my EP. He just wants at least 3 different artists.

I'm fixing to be 14th at this rate.  Listened to what I thought I had settled on, and 2 songs will fall into the "this blows" bucket, and 2 others really aren't fitting in.

Back to the drawing board.

Oh man.

First and foremost, I insist on sending music that *I* love, with the tertiary hope/believe/expectation that the host will love it.  Ain't no way I'm sending First Signal, Hardline, or House of Lords knowing that you'd rather recreate live out the Stuck In The Middle With You scene in Resevoir Dogs.

Anything that doesn't fit both criteria is OUT.  Now I have to find 40-ish minutes of music that fits a theme AND the above conditions.  Others may have loose standards; I do not.  I will not sacrifice quality for speed of submission.

The hunt continues.
