I should've known you'd have instant standings! :lol

three theme bonuses left - Katt is pretty much guaranteed to have one, imo, the other two are up in the air

You must've missed this post:

So here's what I ended up doing with the Bonus Points for the Finals. The competition was so freaking tough for these, it was an excutiating decision. …..

I ended up giving TWO additional Bonus Points this round.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

other comments:
hell yeah finally got double points on something other than an 8 for once
those are the two best songs on that serdce album by quite a fair margin but you'll dig the album regardless
don't listen to that tetrafusion album you prob won't like most of it, it's okay
maybe listen to the faceless album, most of the rest is more like part 2 of autotheist rather than the other two parts, heavier crap, but it's a cool album
that dissona album is secretly one of the best straight-up prog metal albums of the decade. you gave another sky a 9.0 when i sent it two roulettes ago btw (it's better, so, fair)
aaaaand finally some justice for sacrificed alliance after you didn't listen to 'em last roulette :P granted the one i sent then wasn't one of the better songs on the album, vs. a really damn good epic that you liked more, so

huh, thought you'd dig that Irreversible Mechanism song after the Aenimus one you sent me  :lol oh well. that's still like, a stupidly high average for this roulette, jeez. 17/20 and a theme bonus, delicious  :metal would've scored slightly higher too if i went with my shorter cut, but then i bet i'd have lost the theme bonus since the story would've fallen apart a little
if i score highest in the round overall i'll at least be satisfied by that small victory  :corn but i suspect katt will beat that score

btw for those keeping track at home:

Stadler - This concept album reminds me of riding around in my parents' car.

 :lol :lol :lol

Haha, I don't know how to take that.  :) :) :)

Nothing bad.   They just played a general "hits" station in the car and Elton John and Billy Joel were staples of that.  The Joe Cocker song too.  Since I don't really listen to the radio now (unless I'm in their car and that's not nearly as often), I don't hear that stuff much so it instantly reminded me of it.

Glad I could entertain you Tim! 18.4 is pretty high for a non-rock/non-metal EP in my opinion.

My bet is on Kade, or if he fails, I hope Michael wins.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

OK he has 9 tracks that each get a 10.  That's 90.  plus ten for the double points song is 100.  100/9* 2 is 22.2.  Plus a bonus point.  Or am I missing something with how it's scored?

Nevermind - I was missing something.  :P  Carry on.

With Tim's reaction to Michael's he could easily come out of nowhere and win this.  I'd have no problem with that.  As Ruslan said, it's a high score for non metal, but music is music and if it moved him in a certain way, he could have done enough.

Maybe, but I dunno. I could definitely see him winning the round and jumping above Ruslan, but to win the roulette me, you and Chad would all have to have dropped the ball and I'm not sure how likely that is.

Interesting... I appreciate Cyril often doing the math check-ups that the rest of us are too lazy to do, so thanks for that dude. 18.8 is not impossible, but I'm not sure it's likely as nothing I sent is really Tim's cup of tea, so I'm very interested to see how mine is scored - unless I do in fact get a bonus point... hmm. Congrats to those who have already gotten the bonus points, I really think everybody could've earned one (just based on the writeups, at least).

This was a really fun roulette, Tim; I think you've converted me to finally being a fan of making EPs. I hope someone else does an all-EP roulette soon.

I'll probably put this in the other thread ("How do you find new music?") but something dawned on me here.  I find new music differently than others.

I listen to most/pretty darn near all the music that's offered here, and a lot of it is good - really good - but other than a handful of things - Neal Morse is the biggest, Ayreon/Star One seems to be the second - a lot of it doesn't stick.   It seems I get a lot more music from my surroundings than other people do.  I shazam the FUCK out of things.  I'll be in a store, restaurant, bar, airport, whatevs, and be shazaming like a fool (yes, I'm that guy that is standing there with his arm in the air hoping the phone can pick up the music wafting through the room).   Radio, Sirius, TV... all good sources, and since I'm a melody guy, that's where a lot of music I like comes from.

Yeah same here, and I mentioned this to Tim in PMs already but I think as well as the themes which have been really fun, part of the reason this has worked so well has been having a not-very-restrictive banlist. When I have plenty of options for things that could fit the theme and the host has a decent chance of enjoying, it feels less difficult and therefore more enjoyable to be able to put something coherent together.

I want to chime in, too. I generally stay away from EP roulettes for various reasons, but this was not only a challenge that was better than I thought it would be, but also fun.  Add to that that it's the first time I've used Spotify to communicate my choices, and I think that will be the norm from this point forward.

I love putting together these 'concept' albums.  Loved doing it for Puppies ... love looking for very creative ways to put together a thematic group of songs (I think Evermind's was the first I did in that regard, and I had like 6 different options).  Katt... you're going to be getting the concept album I had all ready to go for your roulette - I guarantee you're gonna love the theme, and hopefully a lot of the tunes.

It's given me an idea to do v5 (which I never thought I'd do, let alone so soon) in January.
