also trying to catch up on album listens between EP listens

this is pretty enjoyable in the ambient/post-rock lane. i don't have a ton else to say about it, but i liked it

well this sure is a pretty standard prog metal album with some melodeath influence. still not sold on the vocals, but i mean, it's a very competent record, even if i feel like it's not very diverse/nothing really stands out as better or worse than anything else to me except the track i'm familiar with. i might relisten but there's no real "wow" factor to this, it's solid for what it is though

will edit the last two from round 9 in here tonight if i get a chance to spin them

well this was way more power metal-y/kinda thrash metal-y than i was expecting from the song i was sent, not much of the rest of this is prog at all & i wasn't very into it but oh well

was kinda into this at first but by the time a second song sounded almost exactly like gang of wolves & they seemed to be basically sticking to the same formula across the rest of the album i kinda checked out, and it isn't even that long of an album either so uuhh. it felt way longer than it was, i guess.

woo i'm caught up on album listens now! ignoring most of them until later since i wanna spend most of my listening time between 2019 releases/EP listens/listening to stuff i already bought ok

updated. through all the EPs a second time, also. there's a very clear standout still but one or two grew on me a bit on relisten, one in particular feels like a pretty solid second place now

also correction to the Florence song, the song listing I was given called it "Ceremonials" but that's an album name, not a song name, the song name is Seven Devils, I've corrected it on hangman and my notes sheet. I -was- listening to the right song for sure though, unless they actually have a song named Ceremonials that was supposed to be sent?
