arbitrary idea i decided to follow through with; the top 15 songs of the roulette (thus far)

1. Glass Beach
2. Don't Settle
3. Sickness for Nothing/She-Wrecks
4. In Blood and Limbs and Gore and Clay
5. Empire Ants
6. The Moloch
7. Broken Satellite
8. Sunset by Plane
9. Epiphany
10. Paha Ihminen
11. Wake of Infinity
12. Mr. Moon
13. In Case of Rapture
14. Aria
15. To See the Light

(bold = round winner)

or something like that. i was gonna keep it to 10 but i had enough songs i really feel strongly about to fill out 15 and didn't want to cut any of 'em. winterhorde isn't on the list because as much as i liked it in the moment rn i don't really remember what that one sounds like, oops. it'd be probably #16 or #17 if it was there though

round 3 is probably still the best round just on the basis of how damn good the top 3 are (3 of the top 5 here) but round 9 was probably the most consistent of the bunch.

anyways. just some filler content while y'all are working on & i'm waiting on EPs

interestingly, the only person who doesn't have any song in the top 15 is puppies, who's in the finals regardless.
i think that's more due to his general consistency + getting the round winner bonus on a weak round, though
and 7 out of the 10 participants have a song in the top 10 too

you're amazingly inconsistent, yeah

in hindsight that arms & sleepers track ended up being one of my favorites of the last roulette, so it was a shame i hated the other two you sent me

it's like, your brand
nothing you sent in this one was even close to as bad anyways, at most i found your worst stuff to just be kinda meh

I may have to send my 2nd EP I'm making, because coincidentally it is exactly 5 songs. It just needs to be edited together.....and I need to come up with a story for it....

Damn, didn't notice the 5-song maximum. Kind of an odd rule when there's length restrictions as it pretty much discourages including any shorter songs.

i need a standard way of scoring things since i'm not using a points system. and you're allowed to use short interlude tracks if you want, but they won't be scored. the minimum length limit is 25 minutes anyways and i'm not gonna hardball that either if you're like, 23-24 minutes, i don't really care, so there's really nothing stopping you from using a short song or two if you want

bolsters has already sent me a 35 minute EP made up of nothing but 1. interlude tracks. 2 5-minute songs so if he can do that i think i'm 100% fine keeping the rules as-is

again, the rules have been there since day one & i've bumped the entire relevant ruleset twice in the past week or two on top of that

Yeah it's ok, I had two short songs (but both over 3 mins) by one artist so I guess I'll probably just ditch one of those, which I don't think will hurt the flow although it won't represent the artist so well. Hmm, will have a think.

EDIT: or I could edit the shorter one, which is instrumental, to be under 3 mins and lead directly into the other one. That would count as an interlude then, right?

If you're like, cutting a 6 minute song in half it won't fly but if you're cutting an ambient outro out of a 3.5 minute song or something that's fine

I don't want people sending half a song as a full song basically. Puppies' edit of the hope drone song last roulette is fine.

Okay! Sending in about an hour after making the edits. I swapped out one track that wasn't really going to work for another longer track that's also going to get 0 strawberries and deleted another one that you probably would have hated, so I'm all good.
