I got my second negative COVID test in 48 hours, so the wife let me out of lockup!

My house is bigger than I remembered!

My wife is the exact opposite.
My wife would be like...you're gonna take a test? Why? If you're sick, stay home. If you feel good enough, go to work.

would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Seems quite sensible to me.

The one time I got it, it came up positive when I was sick and lasted about 2 days.  I didn't do the test after the 2 days cause I felt good enough and didn't want to see the red line.  I was like, 'nah, I'm good enough.'  :lol  I did still stay away from people though for the most part.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

We are dealing with some extended family issues on my wife's side of the family, the circumstances of which mean she cannot get sick right now.  So we took extreme measures.

Given how sick I got mrs.jingle last Christmas (when my case was only sniffles and sneezing), 'abundance of caution' is not necessarily a bad thing.

Not to further derail the discussion, but Flu/COVID/RSV cases are ramping up again (was one of the lead stories on the nightly news last night) - and very early this season.

Yesterday I walked into a bar for a drink and walked out with a PS2, CRT-TV, and copies of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy XII. My god bars rock.

By "yesterday," do you mean the early 2000s?

By "yesterday," do you mean the early 2000s?

Sung to the tune of "Yesterday", by The Beatles, who may or may not be overrated :lol

(Verse 1)
Yesterday,
All my tweets were so far away,
Now I'm stuck with memes and gifs,
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly,
I'm not half the vlogger I used to be,
There's a viral video haunting me,
Oh, I wish for 2003.

(Chorus)
Yesterday came with dial-up dreams,
Napster downloads and AIM schemes,
Now it seems,
I long for the early 2000s.

(Verse 2)
Why it had to go, I don't know,
Friends on MSN, we'd talk so slow,
Now they're gone, like a dial-up tone,
Oh, I miss the early 2000s.

(Chorus)
Yesterday came with Tamagotchis,
Eminem's hits and low-rise jeans,
Now it seems,
I long for the early 2000s.

(Bridge)
There's a shadow hanging over me,
Oh, the Y2K fears and DVDs,
Now I yearn for MTV,
Oh, I long for 2003.

(Verse 3)
Yesterday,
Tech was simple in a different way,
No smartphones, just Snake to play,
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

(Chorus)
Yesterday came with flip phones sleek,
Laggy internet and boy bands' peak,
Now it seems,
I long for the early 2000s.

(Outro)
Why it had to go, I don't know,
But I miss the early 2000s so,
Now they're gone, but the memories stay,
Oh, I wish for yesterday.

Down to 260 Lbs.  Started the journey are 437 Lbs.  40 more to go.

Outstanding!   :metal. Always glad to see someone improve their health... and I bet you feel incredible!

What made me happy?  Being able to walk, run, hike, climb, drive, listen to music, read a book, and spend time with my family and friends.  My best friend growing up was diagnosed with Brain Cancer late last year and there was a time that he could do none of the things that I listed above (among other things, chiefly for him being unable to play golf... he was a +2 handicap and was an assitant pro for a while at River Run CC in Davidson NC)... praise God the majority of the Brain tumor is now gone and the tumors that had formed on his spine in the Summer are almost completely gone as well.  For certain he is a walking miracle and a testament to God!  Anytime I begin to bog-down in day-to-day life or complain, I think of him and I'm thankful for every breath of health and every oportunity that I have to move forward in life.

Also, Amaretto, Heavy Cream, Double-Dark Al Moka Coffee, and a big mug... these things made me happy today.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I'm the head coach of a Junior Varsity Hockey team made up of primarily 7th and 8th graders. Our high school hockey program found a league in Illinois where 7th/8th and 9th graders can play JV hockey (in Missouri you have to be in 9th grade or higher to play JV or Varsity)

Anyway, we joined this league last year as a way to help the kids get prepared to play a more physical high school game and overall just get used to the speed that high school hockey plays at. The pitfall so to speak is that all the other teams are legit JV teams that are made up of mostly 9th/10th and 11th graders. So, you can imagine the disparity in size, strength and talent we face when playing these teams.

All the players and parents are aware that the point of playing is to get better, get the exposure and experience....that winning isn't really going to be possible most of the time. We've had some close games this year but haven't had much luck in getting the wins.

Until tonight. The team played incredible, inspired hockey.....just a really fun game to watch and coach but the best part of it is that the team we played was comprised of players who a lot of our kids play on the same team with in our missouri side Club hockey. And, for the past tow months all they've been doing is talking mad smack about how badly they were going to beat us....that they were going to mercy rule us and that we had no shot. Non stop trash talk...

So....I was SO happy for our kids to get the win and throw it in thier faces. There is nothing better than beating a team of arrogant players....especially when it's their own buddies who were taling smack this whole time. This might be near the top of my favorite wins as a coach and I've had some really good teams in the past. But the way these kids came together to play a team game and get this 'W' was awesome.

Oh....we won 2-1

Congrats on the win, that's awesome!

But you have some JV teams with 11th graders?  That sounds a little odd.  At least down here, JV is 9th and 10th, and varsity is 11th and 12th.  An 11th grader playing JV down here would get laughed out of the gym/field/whatever.
