I used to hit up McDonalds, Burger King, or Arby's  once or twice a week and my goal was a meal around $4. I used to easily be able to do that. Now I go to Costco for a cheap lunch since their prices haven't increased.

I agree McDonald's fries aren't that great. but their Coke is better than elsewhere. Not worth a special trip for though.

I admit to loving McDonald's.

i like it too and i used to work there (which should mean i should be repulsed by it, lol)

I worked at a Boston Market and it never got to me, but I get what you are saying and I know it's happened for other people who have worked some restaurants in the past.

I'm a big fan of McDonald's.  I'll go there just for a coke.

My go to when hungover was to go to McD's and get a large coke, their fountain coke is S tier.

My first real job at 15 was working at McD's. I actually have a lot of great memories from there because a few of my friends worked there.

Cookout (a fast food chain here in the southeast) is still pretty cheap. I can get a burger, 2 sides, and a drink for under $10.
Cookout is where it's at.  What is your go-to shake flavor?

And incidentally, whereabouts do you live?

just got back from Wendy's, another great spot!! quality is their recipe, and they don't cut corners.

I've posted about this before.  Wendy's used to be my go-to.  Their burgers were the best by a healthy margin.  Then, around 15 years ago, they changed something about their burgers.  The patties used to be rather loosely packed and VERY juicy.  After the change, the patties are much more dense and dry.  I assume they went with a lower fat content.  The buns also changed.  They aren't as soft.  I still get cravings for the old version.

Wendy's definitely changed everything, and it was better before.

Also better with all of the yellow packaging.

I hadn't had Wendy's in a decade and realized there was one on a slight detour on my way home from work.

I wholly agree with you. It's not the same. Fast food is on a decline, the food doesn't match the price anymore.

Mint chocolate chip is my go to. I went there for lunch the other day and the guy at the window told me they had an extra Oreo milkshake and I could have it for free if I wanted. Made my day.

And I’m in the Metro Richmond area.

My go-to shake there is the peanut butter and banana.  Just wonderful.

Cookout is my go to place and the fountain mix is the best around.

The not happy part is I went the other day and the guy at the counter said cheese bites will not be a side anymore, which sucks if true.  My wife went to Whataburger the other day and they gave her the wrong burger and cold fries.  I told her she should have gone to cookout.

And I’m in the Metro Richmond area.

We've driven from Mass to Florida at least 35 times. Richmond, to me, was always an important road mark.

Driving south, once we drove through Richmond, it was like being jettisoned to outer space, meaning the trip became so much more spacious and relaxing. Everything north of Richmond is such a pain in the ass.

I also remember about 10 miles maybe? south of Richmond on 95 there's an on ramp/off ramp interchange that always reminded me of the Systematic Chaos album cover.

Yeah 95 north from Doswell and beyond is a nightmare. If I’m going north I just take Rt 1 or 301, avoid the highway as much as I can.

And I know the exact interchange you’re talking about. The intersection of 95, 895, and Chippenham Pkwy. 895 is a private highway for the rich folks to avoid the airport traffic. I made the mistake of getting on there once, and there was a $5 toll. I had exactly $5 in cash on me  :lol

If you ever get down to Atlanta, watch out for “spaghetti junction”. That interchange had to be the inspiration for Systematic Chaos.

I was interviewed for a podcast from the UK called "The Real Life Buyer". It was great to talk about "Strategic Alliances with Vendors". To be recognized by a colleague from the same field and be asked to talk about it - particularly in a language that is not the one I was raised with - felt great.

By the way, if there are any other Supply Chain professionals in DTF who are willing to connect, you can find me on LinkedIn!

Here's the video...I time stamped it forward a bit, the part with me is after the guitar solo, but where I stamped it you'll see guitarist Hal-CA wearing a baseball jersey with her name on the back, my buddy John who drove down to LA with me for the show gave that to her. She constantly is rocking it in her IG posts, and he points it out to me every time  :lol

The parts with me start at about 2:42

The dude brought her a shirt?? That's weird.  ;D

Why?

It's pretty common among the Jmetal crowd. Fans also do fan merch that they give out to each other, wristbands and towels to mark the moment. One of the best was at a Band Maid show in Dallas...it was Miku's birthday and a fan made a bunch of towels that had her face on them with the word SAY! (it's from a specific song video), and the whole crowd held them up at the beginning of her MC. It was hilariously awesome...

I don't know. Just feels odd to me. Maybe I need to take off my clothes and talk about it. ;D

I've just never considered anything like that in all of my years following music, going to concerts, that sort of thing. I'd just never bring a shirt to give to a band member. Hey to each their own.

Interesting. Yeah, that's cool!

I currently have one Band Maid, four Nemophila, and one Hanabie wristband, each specific to a certain concert and venue. They make for great keepsakes...
