I had a personal/business meeting yesterday at a local restaurant.  I pulled up and saw almost no one at the tables outside, which I thought was a little odd, but it means I'd get my choice between the alcohol and non-alcohol sections.  However, when I walked up to the outdoor receptionist stand, I was asked if I wanted to sit inside or outside.  Hell yeah!  Give me an inside table pretty much any day.  I don't really like eating outside, and right now the air quality sucks because of the California fires.  They said it was their first day being allowed to have guests inside, and it was pretty crowded.  Yea!

I think Elise Trouw takes the cake for the single most beautiful person I have ever seen in my life. That's what made me happy today. And yesterday. And the day before that. And tomorrow, too.  :lol

You seem to have a type, my friend!   :) :)  I had to Google some of those, and I went to "Sara Blakely" and I was like "she looks like Judy Greer!"

(Nothing wrong with that.)

Quite, although I kind of intentionally limited the names I mentioned to that "type."

Never heard of her either. Beautiful young girl, but I don't know...how old is she? 16?

I'm old, apparently, because she looks way too young. I feel kind of funny even looking at her like that.

Just finished my 4th close in a row at work.

But now that Peak Season is over - it's barely busy at all and whereas pre-covid, summer peak season - saturday - we might be leaving work at around 1am.

Today; as it's now September and a Sunday and holiday makers check out first thing Monday morning so they don't hang around etc...

I was done by 21:30 - and we stop serving food at 21:00 - so yeah it's really quiet. :) ( and that included cleaning the venue )...

Now I have 2.5 days off work and they look really sunny so i'm gonna go for a bike ride to one of my fave towns by the seaside.

I really like it when I finish a book on a Saturday and am able to start a new one Sunday night. Just a little thing that makes me happy.

Not much to be happy about on a Monday, but I did just finish signing my refinance loan.  Reduced from 4.625% to 3.00%.  :2metal:

Last weekend was a bit upsetting for me and I've been kind of struggling internally with some things going on.

What made me happy is today starts a new week and I feel like I've had a good productive day and can start working on things to be in a better place, mentally and physically.

My camera (Canon T7, plus a telephoto lens..
300mm I think) came in today. Photography has been my thing for a while but I finally took the plunge and bought an actual camera.

Took it out today, got a few shots of the smokey sunset, tweaked one a little and posted it. Immediately a good friend asked if he could use it as the cover for the Shoegaze project he's working on.

Made totally my day.
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

It's finally time for the cool weather! I turned my air conditioning off for maybe the fourth time this whole summer and left my windows open all night. Now my apartment is niiiiice and cool.

Also, cherry coffee. I can't wait for my week of vacation in October.

Oh god yes. Finally the hot summer is over, and I can breathe fresh air again - and sleep better at night. Autumn is my favourite season for many reasons. I can do without the rain though.

I totally agree other than the rain - in my perfect world it would be crisp, rainy (not windy, just rainy with thunder) autumn 24/7, year round. Summer's my least favorite season and I don't like the sun. Sleeping better is a huge plus too.

After 7 months and 5 days, I've been to a concert.

Very low key thing, basically a parking lot where the adjacent bar put some tables, and there was a small stage, the ones you'd expect for school bands, but yet it hosted an underground band that I always follow whenever I can (they're located 200 KM away from me).

I stayed away from the stage and whenever people were passing me by, talked a little with people I knew, and cleaned my hands more than once, I still feel I haven't done enough because people you know give you a false sense of security but it was in the open and I was never THAT close to people, I hope to not regret it.

Concerns aside, it was so great to finally have a glimpse of normality again. Arriving and hearing the music from afar, seeing outside tables and people I knew, waiting for a band on stage..... I sorely missed all of that.
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

Nice!

There's a female Iron Maiden tribute band called the Iron Maidens who did something at a restaurant/club near me.  They set up inside, and the performance was shown on big screens outside the place.  I gave some thought to going but ultimately decided not to.

Nice, it'll be almost 8 months from my last concert when I go to a drive in show Oct 2nd.  Not sure how that will go, but I'm excited to finally get to do something involving live music and actually being there and experiencing it (not like watching a live stream).

However, I did see my parents last night for the first time all year, that made me happy.

Also, isn't JP's wife in the Iron Maidens or something?

I passed on an opportunity to sit at an outside table, watching the band play on a screen.  To quote from the FB post about this show:  "We’ll be playing inside the venue, you will be outdoors in a socially distanced, reserved table setting where you see a live audio and video feed on the giant video screen! . . .  Dinner reservations are required - in addition to purchasing tickets.  Tables are available for 2, 4, and 6 people.   Two-item minimum (at least 1 food) required per person in addition to ticket purchased. "

If I want to watch a band play on a screen, I can do that from my living room.

Also, isn't JP's wife in the Iron Maidens or something?

Close.  She's in (or has been in -- I don't know how active the band is) an all-female Judas Priest tribute band called...you guessed it...Judas Priestess.  http://www.judaspriestessband.com/about_us.html

Here's a clip of them playing live (with some guy guesting on guitar):  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3O6f2OMSvA

Ah, I was close  :lol but also, that concert concept doesn't sound interesting AT ALL IMO so I don't think I'd go see it either.  Just weird to not have the band in front of you and you are right, might as well just watch a live stream at home instead.  I do think a lot of people want to just get out so I don't blame the organizers for trying something, it just doesn't sound worth it to me.
