We had our performance reviews at work this week. I wasn't really excited for mine, I pretty much phoned it in last year due to some personal issues I was going through. I come to find out that I had a an amazing performance review and that I'm getting a title promotion + raise + the biggest bonus I've ever gotten. Really made my week!

A few pages ago I mentioned that my family was gifted free tickets to an AHL Chicago Wolves hockey game for Dementia Awareness night.  The team comped us 7 seats in the third row behind the glass, right next to the penalty box.  This was our view:





It was awesome to see the game from up close, even though the Wolves got their asses kicked again.  The best part was just being able to do something nice for my dad and give him a night out with his kids and grandkids to have great seats at a game, where we normally would never sit if we bought tickets ourselves.

I don't get it.

A puppet looked at a cute chick and said "We're just normal men."  It then went on to explain "We're just innocent men" which explains nothing.  The ridiculousness of the situation caused her to burst out laughing.  And the whole thing is hilarious.

I mean, I didn't think it needed an explanation, but there you go.

Yeah, odd placement, but "happy" is ultimately the right word.

I was doing a review of some powerpoints for work and I put some music on, and I chose the videos from Fish's Weltschmerz deluxe edition... and "Garden Of Remembrance" came on.  All I could think of was my mom and my dad, and I spent about three minutes just crying my eyes out.  Yeah, sad, but if you watch the video, the memories of better times and everlasting love... it was cathartic, and therefore made me ultimately happy. 

Weltschmerz is fast climbing the charts of one of my favorite records of all time.

My wife snagged a promotion at her review today.  She had been gunning for it, and she deserved it, and she got it.  I am so happy for her and proud of her.  She's an extraordinary example for our kids.

A rare day where I picked up the kids from daycare instead of my wife. The look of absolute joy on my son made me so happy. My daughter, on the other hand, was furious because she was in the middle of building a house with her friends.
