DT at Download Festival
« on: July 21, 2019, 03:41:23 PM »
I have just finished watching the Sky Arts coverage of this years Download Festival - does anyone know why DT were not featured ? I note that Tool, the Sunday night headliner, were also not shown.

I have to say that there were some absolutely dreadful bands at this years festival - I must be getting old !!

Because Mainstream Media has an agenda against progressive rock.

While I don't have any conclusive evidence, I wouldn't be surprised if there is an option in each band's contract to "opt out" of such coverage, and both bands chose to do just that. I would especially expect this of Tool, given the way Maynard is about recording shows and hiding in the shadows despite being the frontman, but I can imagine this being the case for DT too, considering how much of a perfectionist JP is during live performances.
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.
