Best thoughts for Rodrigo and his family.

Rodrigo’s father had a stroke today and sadly he passed away a couple hours ago.
It really saddened me a lot, just yesterday I was talking with Altaf senior about soccer and stuff, he was trying to convince me to stop supporting my favorite Latin American soccer club and root for his team, it was all jokes and laugh and today I got the news he passed away. He was a nice, nice guy! Sadly I never met him in person.

My best thoughts to his wife, daughter and Rodrigo. I’ll surely root for Flamengo to win the Libertadores Cup this year.

My dad just told me today he was going in an angioplasty soon (hospital space pending... thanks Covid). While it should be a straightforward procedure, it might have been the first time I honestly ever thought of my dad not being around. My thoughts are with Rodrigo and his family.

Thanks everyone, and thanks MinistroRaven for creating this topic. My dad was the most personable and charismatic person I've ever known. Give minutes of chatting with you, and he'd turn into your best friend. Since 2017 I interviewed many of my idols, and yesterday I lost my biggest idol and number one fan. He did everything he ever could for my sister, mom and I. Rest in peace, Dad.

Thanks everyone. I'm in Rio now, and my family is doing well. We're dealing with all the bureaucracy that this situation entails, but we chose to celebrate my dad's life as opposed to being sad about losing him. He did a lot for many people, and it warms our hearts to hear the stories of people he met in his life. There's been many calls and messages from people we had no idea he helped. I'll be here for a couple of weeks, then back to Toronto.
