Katt, I know you and I are simpatico on this, but the later model Plant solo albums - from, say, Dreamland till now - are a treasure.  I love the way his voice, aged like Scotch in an oak barrel, sits over the more acoustic-oriented bands he's been using.  I like it as much as anything he's done that doesn't have a backwards message on it, or an inscription to Aleister Crowley on the runout groove (i.e. Zeppelin).

I mostly prefer the 2010 Band of Joy record and especially Raising Sand which is just sublime. I did buy Fate of Nations recently because we were talking Plant briefly, but haven't put it on yet.

His earlier records didn't really vow me, mostly bland and boring, and with Page's very weak solo effort I thought they truly and completely lost it . But Plant's later records are very good and somewhat remedy that. Now if only Page had some later records.

I once brought in Plant's Band of Joy 2010 record for a coworker to listen to because he was a big Plant fan (or so he said; probably just a fan of Zeppelin-era Plant). I warned him, I said, "This is way different, this is not Zeppelin, it's much calmer but is still catchy." Came back from class that afternoon with the CD on my desk and a post-it note on it that said, "This fucking SUCKS." Never bothered introducing my local friends or coworkers to music I like after that.

I think it's so weird that you like fun. Like, it's the only outcast I've seen of your vast musical collection, it doesn't fit anywhere, I can't even link it to anything else I've read in the roulettes.

I think it was mostly metal.  Except for Brand New.  I was just curious because I'm not familiar with them but they seem to be a staple of your roulette sending.
