Takes me back to my time in the amniotic sac.

Yeah, this bad boy right here is mine.

Definitely Stars Of The Lid.

I mean, definitely this I guess? This is half of the appeal of the album for me, but I guess I can see how it can be not quite your thing.
That one could reasonably be mine as well, but I'm guessing mine is one of the least memorable impressions....Although I don't think my song is unmemorable, but whatever... :|

"Black metal riding a horse" is solefald probably, mine is the sledgehammer comment

I'm not sure if that's a positive thing or negative... :)   I personally love that song, so hopefully it's not the "outside your wheelhouse" comment... unless that turns out to be a positive comment in disguise...

Puppies: Type O Negative - Hail And Farewell To Britain

Man, I listened to this after submitting and ALMOST wanted to swap... What a great song!  :metal

As for impressions, I claim dibs for sledgehammer... it's maybe a bit hamfisted although I agree with its message.

I thought about sending one of really weird ones but I don't know... if someone's going to like those songs at all, maybe it's just not going to be after a few listens in the context of a roulette.  But Raudedauden could still be the black metal riding a horse comment - I wouldn't have described it that way myself but now I can kind of see it.

We haven't even quite finished the hangman yet. :lol

I also just noticed that all four top seeds decided to put themselves last for picking a theme. Pretty interesting. I guess the benefit is hopefully being able to target anyone they need to beat to qualify for the knockouts. On the flipside, so many themes will have been used by that point.

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.

I didn't actually care much about the order. I sent a PM to each participant in my group asking them which place they would like to be in the order. My intention was to gather their answers and make a totally opposite order. :lol

Unfortunately Ruba and Puppies said it didn't matter to them,  and LordCost didn't answer at first, so I sent the current order. LordCost then PMed me that he doesn't want to go first but it was too late to change it, otherwise I would've totally put him first. :lol

Hey TAC, did you send the instrumental or the vocal version?

The vocal version. I didn’t know there was an instrumental version. I bought this single back in the day. I fear mine is the “out of the wheelhouse” comment as it is totally out of my wheelhouse.

But I’ve always loved this. The rap is easy on the ears and the musical track is fantastic.

It is a fun tune! I remember back in high school, a friend of mine would call out "Jump to the slam, boogie woogie jam slam! Bust a dialect I'm the man in command!" at least twice a day.

Here's a link to the instrumental from Us3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ebb7I-X3hXA

And the original version (Canteloupe Island by Herbie Hancock): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8B1oIXGX0Io

I remember hearing the instrumental version on restaurant muzak systems all the damn time in the mid to late 90's.  The original song is a jazz jam session staple.

Well, I will say that I felt like our theme was a bit too restrictive. If not for Leonard Cohen, I would've had to send either David Bowie or some 80s or 90s metal bands like Savatage. Not that I didn't enjoy it, but I feel like this might've affected the average score.

But still, I'm behind my Leonard Cohen picks 100%. I love that album.

If you stand 100% behind your song, then a restrictive theme shouldn't matter.  The only time I get pissed at restrictive themes is if I'm then relegated to sending something that (for me) is sub-standard.  Not gonna give any examples, cuz TIM would be a dink and use that against me.  I'm sure he's already got a plan in mind.

Just wait until he sees my "female-led, glam rock, power ballad" theme.   :lol

Yeah, if Leonard Cohen ended up being banned, then I would've complained. I thought the theme was cool and it certainly set some boundaries for the word "restrictive".
