If there is still time I would participate, the roulette is creative and fun and there are enough holes in the banned list. I already have an idea for first round

First, I broke the tie by voting the middle option for bonus points.  Second ...

Just to give an idea, here are some of my favorite artists of late (in no order):

The Smiths
Death Cab for Cutie
Ben Howard
Bob Dylan
Jason Isbell
Phoebe Bridgers
Sufjan Stevens
Cigarettes After Sex
The Protomen
Coheed and Cambria
Bill Callahan

And some favorites of all time (in no order):

Any of Bob Dylans first dozen or so albums
Every Agalloch album
Every Anathema album
Lateralus and Aenima (Tool)
Lighbulb Sun (PT) and most everything SW has done
Choirs of the Eye (Kayo Dot)
Remedy Lane (Pain of Salvation)
Disintegration (The Cure)
( ) by Sigur Ros
Most Opeth, especially Morningrise, Ghost Reveries, BP

That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

HAH! I wouldn't worry too much. Some of the best songs I've ever received in roulettes have come from you and your ilk.

five submissions so far and already a lot of diversity. It's really interesting to see how some of you approached the animal theme, or, in the case of Tim, decided you'd rather not get close at all

Absolutely!

And the same goes for anyone else who might wander in here—I won't be closing it off for another two days.

New Poll: should we allow two people to send the same song?

On the one hand I like to encourage more submissions. On the other hand, time zones being what they are... its not exactly fair to the person who sends second.

I'm abstaining.  I think that it's your call - depends if you really want to maximize the number of songs/bands you get exposed to, or if you're in it for fun as much as musical discovery.  I've seen hosts play it both ways.

I have no preference.

I wouldn't quite call it amazing, but it is a great album. It's just a little too long for it's own good and Hands of Darkness is just a bad track overall.

BTW I'd like to think I have good chances of getting far in this roulette since our tastes pretty much match, especially in your all time favourites section
