No worries, I'm not going to be able to listen and post first impressions/hangman until tomorrow at the earliest, and I'm also still waiting on Sacul.

I’d like to check out more from Beth—what would you recommend? 7+1 for theme
I highly recommend that album, it's lovely and has a very autumn / winter mood. Also her work on Portishead (she's the singer) is brilliant imo.

Bummer. Ok, forget the themes. Too much limitation for a (at best) 10% chance for an extra one point. Not worth it. I have no regrets on Serpentine - it's a 5-bell song in my books.

I appreciate you and Kat sending it, it just didn't spark joy.

As for the themes, it's cool if you'd rather ignore them (Tomi did so this round and it turned out pretty well for him), but this round should at least be less restrictive.

By the way with you comparing Vennart to Oceansize I hope you are aware Vennart is the former vocalist of the band and the Vennart albums are basically just the current incarnation of Oceansize  :lol (though significantly less good)

Yeah, I saw that. :tup I don't really like Oceansize either though.

I thought you liked them at least a bit since they are in your banned list. I was really an Oceansize fan but now I am not that much, they got old to me quickly. The new Vennart albun has great songs and it's more interesting than The Demon Joke to me, even if I too never get the same excitement I had when I listened to Oceansize new albums.

Spider Bones chorus is one of my favorite moments of the album, I hoped at least that would not leave you cold. Robots In Disguise is maybe the best track on it, and I played a lot also the first two tracks released before the album (Donkey Kong and Immortal Soldiers).

Sent for round two, hoping to get back on track!

Round 2 First Impressions

Feels a little bit longer than it needs to be

Twice as good as your first submission

In a round in which I received multiple songs over 10 minutes, yours proves that epic doesn’t equal song length

This song feels fragile—hell, it makes me feel fragile—even when it’s putting on a brave face.

I like how organic and full this sounds, but it remains to be seen whether it can hold my interest

I found myself vacillating between calm and anxiety throughout this song.

I feel like I’m eavesdropping on the sounds of an out of body experience. I appreciate how dynamic this is, despite being so simple

His voice must be an acquired taste

The wildest song yet, by a long shot.

I really like the propulsive energy of this song—it’s undeniably fun

Really dreamy song, this one. I’m intrigued by the way it adds and subtracts layers throughout the song.

This one seems to require some patience. The question is whether that patience pays off.

Seems it just suddenly bloomed into a much fuller and more satisfying song, but was it too late?

I kept expecting this one to develop into something heavier, but it never did

This one very nearly put me to sleep.

Very stylish and tightly executed. This is about what I expected, after hearing about this band from several people.

Hoping it's #2 or #3 because the other 3 don't sound positive; I'm sure my song is one of these.

uhh, i interpret this as a fairly positive one attached to a shorter song, which in turn is also bad for the 10+ minute songs  :lol

anyways enough of these could be mine that i'm not gonna bother
