Seven Steps to the Green Door
« on: March 28, 2019, 11:30:23 AM »
Got my pre-order of the new album "The?Lie" today. Anybody familiar with this great German prog rock/metal band, founded in 2004 by Marek Arnold, Ulf Reinhardt and Heiko Rehm?

Looks awesome and includes some gimmicks!

Here are some links:

Website of the American lyricist George Andrade (website includes the story, lyrics and most of the music): https://www.georgejandrade.com/george-andrade-writer-lyricist-the-lie?fbclid=IwAR0FlBsWt3kAWs-r487VeX7vMc073GqUDpWa271RveruPZbb4xYkCy_vqAE

The band has 4 albums out and this new album continues the story of "The?Book" and features guests like Pete Jones or Luke Machin. Mixed and mastered by Martin Schnella, produced by Marek Arnold (also of Cyril, Flaming Row or United Progressive Fraternity).

I know, this reads like spam as I'm a big fan of that band - but I also think that many of you will like the stuff.

This has been on my radar.  I have The?Book and Step in 2 My World.  I was disappointed with The Fetish though.

Gonna fire this up on Spotify tomorrow morning!

Seven steps?  When you get to the Green Door, let me know what's behind it.

Someone owned a special VCR tape.

I'll check this out.

Two of my former studying colleagues and friends play/sing on this! Stephan Pankow, a great guitarist with whom I have played a few times (and hopefully will again in the summer) and Jana Pöche, great singer from Dresden.

And my brother's former physical education teacher wrote the story :D

I've been wanting to hear this album.

I caught that it was finally up there a couple weeks back.  Haven't checked iTunes, but if it's there as well, I might be adding it to my library, along with The?Book.

Have a listen to this real "inside" track - its just the acapella vocal arrangement of a part of "bound in chains" - mixed down by Martin Schnella after finishing "FETISH".

I think it's very cool to hear what's going on behind the other instruments.  :tup
