They seem to start tours on the west coast a lot.

Well yeah, because all the rejects from CA move up here and bring their crappy politics with them, it basically is northern CA.  :yarr

I just came accross this short video of the band thanking their German fans for getting Distance Over Time to #1 on the Offizielle Deutsche Charts: https://youtu.be/33SkK2yQtFw

I checked and didn't see the video posted, so I figured I'd share it here - yet another reminder of how classy and humble these men are.

(For anyone interested: until now, the band's highest position on the German charts was #3 with Black Clouds and Silver Linings and also A Dramatic Turn of Events.)

Attended the gig in Winterbach, Germany yesterday. No surprises concerning the setlist, exactly the same as pretty much every show of the current European tour. Sound was a tad too "bassy" and the keys were mixed way to far into the background. Very glad though that JLB had his "good voice day". Even more, at some point between songs he announced DT's return to Europe in Jan/Feb 2020 and was joking with JP whether they intend to do something special then. JP responded with the main riff of "Overture 1928" :metal ;D So the promised SFAM in its entirety is pretty sure to be caught up on in the Old World as well.

Fellow South American DT fans, I’ve seen dates pop up for Chile and Brazil so far (reported by local media outlets, no official DT statement yet). I guess we’ll have an official announcement pretty soon about the full SA leg in December. Fingers crossed for Peru :eek
It sounds like, "ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk." Instead of the more pleasing kick drum sound of, "gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk."

Someone started a separate thread about the South American dates with official looking artwork, and those dates are up on the band's website.

Thanks for the info! I can second this.
During the Hungarian stop of the current festival tour (on the 25th) James told us that they will come back soon and play SFAM in its entirety!  :D :metal

I don't know where you purchased yours, but I bought my ticket through sound rink and all their tickets are Will Call pick-up (At least for the venue I'm going to).

This is from Sound Rink "VIP Packages and Tickets Question" Page.

Quote
Q: Can I receive digital (electronic) tickets?

A: Unfortunately we do not offer digital or electronic tickets at this time. Unless otherwise stated, all tickets purchased through Sound Rink are will call only.

Quote
Q: Can my tickets be shipped to me?

A: Unless otherwise stated (i.e. ticketing page states tickets are to be shipped), all tickets purchased through Sound Rink, are "will call pick-up only" and cannot be shipped to you. Any extra costs such as shipping cannot be added onto an already purchased VIP package or ticket.

Finally, the band's visit to Argentina has been confirmed. They'll be playing in December, on Friday 13, at a soon-to-open new arena (called Buenos Aires Arena).

https://twitter.com/dreamtheaternet/status/1164539817788620800

The band itself states that their concert in Buenos Aires will be "one of our biggest shows of the year", and that they "simply cannot wait for this one!".

Our new president will take office a couple of days before the show. I hope the situation in the streets is calm that week, so that the band/crew can enjoy their short visit.

Como leí en uno de los comentarios en Instagram, el video suena a que fue grabado por el bananero :rollin

Seriously, though, I'm jealous of you guys, Peru won't have DT live this time either :'(

DT’s instagram has posted an 11 day countdown with Bandsintown.com. The tour doesn’t start in 11 days, so it should be something else? Maybe the European tour dates?

Is it possible that they will open the shows with S2N on this next leg? Or is it more likely that Untethered Angel remains?

I'd be surprised if it's not Untethered still.
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Anything is possible.

They could open with Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball"

Complete with James swinging on a wrecking ball. He upgraded from a forklift to a crane.
