Observations:

- He hit a bum note about 5:23 (I'm kidding; he was waving his arms and tapped the cymbal);
- Cool how Uncle Fester showed up like Eddie at the 5:00 mark;
- I used to work construction, so it's interesting to watch videos of guys on excavators and you can tell when someone knows what they're doing.  Or cooking shows, or mechanic videos.   But it's purely an admiration for skill/craft, there's no emotional involvement in it.   While I look at that and I say "wow, I could practice for 12 hours a day from now until 2112 and never be able to do that", there's no connection to it.  I'm so sorry, I should probably keep that to myself, but it's how I feel.
If you can't get that down by 2112, you must really suck!   :biggrin:
You can do a lot in a lifetime if you don't burn out too fast, you can make the most of the distance, first you need endurance first you've got to last....... NP

Tonight I'm going to DT in Amsterdam. Maybe some sort of homage to Neil Peart?

I think that, at least, they'll acknowledge it before TSCO, but adding a Rush song would be a very special thing.
It sounds like, "ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk." Instead of the more pleasing kick drum sound of, "gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk."

Maybe they'll add his name to one of the tombstones during Through Her Eyes.

Btw, please let us know if there are any setlist changes and/or a tribute to Neil Peart.

I almost forgot I wasn't supposed to watch this thread, as I am trying to avoid spoilers in case there are changes in the set - I will be seeing the band in a month.

However, I am glad there was a tribute. Kudos to DT.

That's a shame. I don't think DT handles this setlist thing well. And If they record this exact setlist for a DVD that would be another waste. There is a chance to perform at least all songs from DoT for a DVD and you don't play. Sad to know S2N and Out Of Reach don't see the stage light.

I really like the current setlist, there are no repeats from the 2017 tour which would be the last time most people saw them and the only repeats from the 2014 setlist are the Scenes songs which make sense. My wishes to make it even better would be really unlikely to happen or just plain unreasonable. For example, I'd get rid of Untethered Angel because I'm not a big fan of it and to make room for another new song in the first set but they're not going to change their opener / drop the lead single. If I want to be really optimistic I'd say that maybe the London shows might get extended slightly to fit more onto the live release but it's not especially likely.

Not according to Setlist FM
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/1e/Rush_A_Farewell_to_Kings.jpg

I can confirm that this setlist is correct, yes.

That's a shame. I don't think DT handles this setlist thing well.

I agree, frankly, and this partly has to do with me not caring for A Nightmare to Remember at all, so that's basically 25% of the first set gone. That said, it feels silly to call this tour the 'Distance Over Time Tour' when you're playing SFAM in its entirety. I kind of think DT should stop dong this sort of thing (play albums in full) and go back to putting together random setlists spanning all albums. I was checking out the setlist I got for ADTOE tour and that one was a lot more varied, which was fun. The band have a pretty diverse back catalogue to choose from, so seeing 4 DoT songs, one each from SC and BC&SL and all of SFAM is probably not the best way to go.

That said, seeing SFAM in its entirety was awesome and it was the reason I got the ticket to be honest, but a little more spontaneity wouldn't hurt.

And If they record this exact setlist for a DVD that would be another waste.

They're going to record the London show for a DVD, apparently.

Damn, what a night.

John Petrucci, as always and ESPECIALLY this tour or so it seems: Guitar playing and sound ON FIRE. Brace yourselves.

JLB; so many unforced errors in the first set, he’s all over the place pitch-wise and sometimes his voice just gave up. But then the SFAM set was remarkably steady and powerful. Just have to be 100% honest and I know it was the first show of the tour. Great show and the best I’ve heard MM with DT sonically. Paralyzed was a total banger.  :metal

Proud to be a part of the DT family 🤘

We're going to the same show then :lol The likely start is between 20:00 and 20:30 because it's almost a 3 hour concert.

It depends on the venue I guess. Yesterday in Amsterdam they started at 20:00, tonight in Oberhausen the first set will start at 20:30.
According to the schedule the organizers posted the concert will last 2 hours and 45 minutes (including a 15 minute break between the two sets). Hope this helps.

Budapest? I will be there with my girlfriend. I'm kind of busy right now (hence low activity here lately) but figured this is probably once in a lifetime opportunity to hear my favorite album of all times live, good thing it's on Saturday.
BTW I like ANTR but IMO it's too long, would like to hear 2 or 3 other songs instead...

Maybe Mike was just a little stunned; I could easily imagine that happening.

The moment of silence was really powerful and it's nice JP threw that in at the end.
