3/20/19 - San Diego @ Balboa Theatre
« on: March 18, 2019, 08:25:59 AM »
I'm surprised that there is no talk about the San Diego show when its in 2 days.  I'm so excited to hear DT live again. Anyone here going to see them in San Diego? I just have to survive 1 more night shift tonight at work then will see DT Wednesday and Thursday. I will be on Petrucci's side on Wednesday and Myung's side on Thursday with pretty good seats so I can't wait. :metal

Are you going to the San Diego or LA show. It would be nice to meet up with some people from the DT forums. I remember meeting a few people at the Wiltern show for The Astonishing tour.

My son and I will be at the Wiltern on Friday with the VIP.  We will be staying near Hollywood a few miles away and will Uber to get there. The receipt for the VIP included instructions to be there at 5.
Anyone else going that night?  :o
I was curious about the start time - so I called, the recording actually told the set 1 and 2 start and stop times.....

I’m excited to find out the setlist, a new DT tour setlist is always big. Not getting my hopes up for too many surprises or anything too extreme because so much of the set is already confirmed or very likely. Scenes in full is amazing anyway but there are a few songs that would make me really pleased. Has anyone got a list of the six songs that were submitted by the forum?

Yes:
1.   Octavarium
2.   The Glass Prison
3.   Surrender To Reason / Blind Faith (tie)
4.   In the Name of God
5.   The Killing Hand

But keep in mind that there is no guarantee that ANY of these will actually be in the set list.  I submitted these directly to JP.  But I told him I do not want to know what is in the set, and other than one non-SFAM song that he and I discussed, I do not know what is or is not in the set.  That said, as I have already mentioned several times, just due to time constraints with them playing all of SFAM and my assumption that they will heavily feature the new album as they always do on supporting tours, I do not believe Octavarium (or anything else approaching that length) has a legitimate shot at being played.  But, again, that's just my opinion.

Hey Bosk,
Could you kindly enlighten us (after getting in touch with the Band if necessary) whether the 1st European leg will include playing of SFAM in its entirety especially for shows NOT being part of festivals?
Your answer would be highly appreciated and would surely affect our bookings for hotels, flights and concert tickets.
Thanks a million!

JP already said in an interview that they weren't. But they were planning on coming back in the fall to do the full show.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

I think it’s fairly reasonable to say that the few non-festival shows will get the standard set and that the festivals will just get a selection largely tilted towards DOT and SFAM.

Anyone here going to the show tonight willing to live-share the set list as they play it? I've got this thread and the DT-forum thread open, just waiting for updates! :tup

Also watching the setlist.fm page in case anyone updates there:

Can't wait to hear impressions (maybe also a video?) from the concert.
I'm concerned about James' performance, so it would  be nice to hear how it was from people who were there.

From the youtube video of Home I hear James' sounded powerful.

James did great last night. I think I might have noticed 1 part where it was not that good but I would give him a 9/10 score for last night's performance.  :metal

TBH, the se list is not thrilling. And I am downright disappointed by PMU as the encore.

Still can't wait to see them in Charlotte.

I'd swap out Nightmare to Remember for Glass Prison.

Close the first set with At Wit's End, and make Pale Blue Dot the encore.

What an odd setlist. I hope it works better "in the flesh" than it does on paper.
