New (and probably final) episodes of 'Arrested Development'
« on: March 15, 2019, 05:59:30 AM »
Earlier today, Netflix released the new (and probably final) episodes of Arrested Development.

I strongly recommend watching them. Towards the end (particularly throughout the last 4 episodes), the show becomes a completely different creature than what us fans have been accostumed to. So, if you are into shows which experiment with their style/genre, you might like it.

To those of you who are AD fans too: what did you think of these new episodes? What funny details or inconsistencies have you noticed so far? (The obvious one to me is about the date of Lucille's mother's death.)

I thought the last two seasons were absolutely dreadful. I really liked what they were trying to do with S4 but the writing was just shit. S5 was just a linear continuation of the aforementioned shit. I tried like hell, but I'm not sure I could even make it through either effort. Since the latest batch seems to be a continuation of S5 I'm not really seeing much to be hopeful for.

That said, Lucile replacing George's Cialis with estrogen tablets was brilliant. They really set it up perfectly.
Argument, the presentation of reasonable views, never makes headway against conviction, and conviction takes no part in argument because it knows.

The 2nd half of season 5 wasn't bad. Wasn't great. Extremely meh.

I hope it's over. This show just needs to die.
