Absolutely!  I only guess the "yawn" impression for Evergrey because TAC expressed his lack of enthusiasm for Evergrey and Tom in the Redemption thread.  Recreation Day is a great song.

5. Stadler-Asia-Daylight
"As expected...yawn."

I had the first Asia album when I was a kid as part of a Columbia House haul. I quickly moved on to heavier music from the jump. I also hear Heat Of The Moment everyday over my work intercom. I actually love that song. This song does not live up to that. I honestly never understood a band of virtuoistic musicians making music like this. It is so blah and pointless. The only thing really saving this was Geoff Downs silky smooth tones and a damned chorus that was so bad, it grew on me like a fungus.

I have that effect on people. 


Oh, and I think I vote nay on "he" and "she"  but yay on "lady", "girl", etc.  They are different (one's a pronoun, and one is a synonym). 

What a fuckin' geek.

3. Lethean-Katatonia-Day And Then The Shade
"I have literally never heard a single song by this band. It wasn't bad."

So, I feel like this song had potential, but it just never had "that moment". Not sure what type of mood you need to be in to listen to Katatonia, but I'm not sure I'm in that mood very often. Pretty sure there's no way I could get through an album of this. I will say that they do seem like a thoughful band, and if there's something a bit more climactic or upbeat, I wouldn't mind hearing it.

They are indeed a thoughtful band, and although "upbeat" certainly isn't a word you'll hear to describe them often, they do have more upbeat songs than this one.  Unfortunately for you, the night song isn't really one of them.    But I'll be more than happy to send recommendations after the roulette.  In the meantime, Stadler told you that I should get bonus points, right?

I mist say I’m kind of disappointed at Devin Townsend’s Earth Day coming in last place. It’s regarded as one of his best songs. I thought I had a homerun here then again, there probably was a reason why he wasn’t band. He’s somewhat of an acquired taste, for sure.
