Welcome to The TAC Anonymous Roulette v.3 Opposites Attract

OK...Here we go!

Looking for 8-10 victims. I may go to 12 if there's enough interest.

This is an Elimination-Free Zone.
I'd rather close off sign ups than eliminate anyone.

Submissions:

The scoring will be done anonymously. That means that I will have no idea who sent what.

I'd like you all to meet my secretary:

Please submit all songs to Stadler and he will forward them to me.
Just send him the band names and the song names. I will be making Spotify Playlists so the only condition is that the song must be available on Spotify. This will be necessary to keep this thing on time.
Also, I'd like to keep most of the songs 8 minutes or less. Certainly under 10 minutes. Again, just want to keep this moving. If you have a 15 minute song that you really believe in, then that is fine. It just may run the risk of my ears glazing over. You may send the same band in the same round or you may send two different bands.

If a band scores LESS THAN 5 points, it may be used again by a DIFFERENT participant. But anything that scores 5 or higher will be banned during the roulette.

Each round , you will be submitting TWO songs.

So for Round 1, the theme is Night and Day. That means that one of your songs will have the word "Night" in the title, and the other will have the word "Day" in the title.

Scoring:

I will group all of the "Night" songs together, and will Stack score those. Then I will take all of the "Day" songs and stack score those. Your score for the round will be the average of the two songs. Understand?

Round Themes

1. Night And Day
2. Man and Woman
3. Right and Wrong
4. Sun and Moon
5. Black and White
6. Love and Hate
7. Dark and Light
8. Life and Death

Again, for each round each song must contain one of the opposites. So for Round 2, for example, one song must contain the word "Man", in the title, and the other must contain the word "Woman" in the title. I may allow for variations, so instead of "Woman", I may allow "Lady" or "Girl". I'll cover variations at the start of each round.

The TAC Roulette Wild Card™
As always, The TAC Roulette Wild Card™ is in effect. That means that once during the roulette, if you are torn between two songs, you can submit both, and I will pick the one to score that I like the most. So for example, in the first round, if you are torn between two "Night" songs, you can send both, and I'll pick the best one. But it can be used only once in the roulette.

Tastes

My favorite bands are:
1A..Dream Theater
1B..Iron Maiden
1C..UFO
2..Alice Cooper
3..All Things Dio
4.  Thin Lizzy

Just a quick thing on growls. I've opened up to them in the past couple of years, and I like everything I've sent in various roulettes, but growls are still a buyer beware kind of submission. Oh, I do NOT like Screamo. Female vocals are also OK, but I do not care for operatic vocals. I don't like Nightwish.

Participants:
1. Stadler
2. Kingshmegland
3. Evermind
4. Indiscipline
5. Kattelox
6. Lethean
7. Puppies On Acid
8. senecadawg2
9. Elite
10. Wolfking
11. Parama
12. Kwijibo

That's it!

I'm in. Love the themes. This is going to be fantastic.

Any bonuses for the first post in the thread not counting yours?

Just send him the band names and the song names. I will be making Spotify Playlists so the only condition is that the song must be available on Spotify. This will be necessary to keep this thing on time.

This rule is a bit weird though. So if I really want to send a song and it's not on Spotify because Spotify somehow sucks, it's banned then?
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

No, I certainly don't want to be discouraging. My convenience is preferable though. ;D

It's honestly just the damnedest thing. I'm running a roulette right now (unexpected, right?) and I use that Russian Yandex.Music streaming platform (also paying for a premium account there because it's quite good), and they have that phone app that works really well for my commute. And each round there's always one or two songs that aren't there, so I just have to make do with those. Your Lost Domain song in the last round was one of those.

So I'll honestly try my best, but don't be put off because my songs might perhaps not be on Spotify, as it's not even working in my country and I have to use VPN to log in.

You can add files on your computer to Spotify playlists, incase you weren't aware, so it's possible to keep everything in one place even if people want to send songs that aren't on Spotify itself. Just have Stadler forward any files to you that he receives.

So I'll honestly try my best, but don't be put off because my songs might perhaps not be on Spotify, as it's not even working in my country and I have to use VPN to log in.

Ruslan, don't sweat it. Everything is pretty much on Spotify. Just send Stadler the band name and song. I'll figure it out. No worries at all, man.

Yeah. Out of the 325 songs in my roulette I think maybe 20 of them aren't on Spotify, at least they weren't when I was making each round's playlist. I think most of Ev's were on there so he should be fine.

Does or does not have to be the same band for both songs in a round?

It doesn’t matter. Can be the same or different.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Does it always have to have the word in the title, or could it be in the lyrics?

I know the first round says title but then the general rules just say "in the song."

The title. I’ll reread and adjust for clarity after work.

Awesome. Glad to have you!

are all the themes just "literally has to be in the song titles" though
'cause that feels like it's gonna be super limiting and i might not play if that's the case, tbh, i'd never be able to actually send bands i want to send .-.

I peed next to Ian Mosley and Mark Kelly

Don’t be a pussy.  ;D You’re the last guy I would think would be limited. Other tan “The” and “A”, these are the most common words in the English language.
