I can be at peace with this. In our last conversation, it felt like she finally saw me as who I actually am (and wanted to know more about who I actually am, and became), rather than how I fit into a certain role. There is peace and closure in that, but also profound loss for what could have been, and for what will never be.

Sometime last year, I stumbled upon a definition of forgiveness that was something like "You are released of all obligations to me, and I am released of all obligations to you", and whatever is (or isn't) in the future is built from there. That is the spot I got to, and was starting to build at least a little something. I had been hoping to build a little more. But I have the closure of knowing that we finally saw each other as we are.

Matt, my father passed away right before Christmas this past year, and I spent many years of somewhat estrangement from my parents, mostly due to my mother. Fortunately, things got better in the last couple of years, and luckily, I had no unfinished business with my father. It is what it is. I believe I did all I could for the situation over the years, but you can't make people do what they're not ready to do.

Glas you were able to achieve some peace before it was too late.

Feeling it today. Losing my dad, now, out little girl (Our cat names Sally who is 19 years old) is very sick and Lisa is bringing her to the emergency vet. Our damn vet is booked right now. WTF of a day so far.

Plus work is out of control right now and 2 of the 3 new hires quit and the 3rd isn't doing well. I'm at my wits end.

0-3. Last kid quit. His asthma was too much with the wet pallets and dust we deal with. 0-3 on the new hires sticking. Out little girl cat Sally is in the hospital. Her liver is failing. Man, all at once. With my Dad now these. Tough patch right now.

We don't know all the results left but it's the same disease that took her brother away 2 years ago from us. They were a litter of only 2 and we got them.

She's lived a good 19 years but this is a terrible time for us.

And now my brother and wife had to put their cat down who was only 12 years old. My 11 year old nephew is not doing well with it. This past month has sucked for our family, big time.

My little Sally is in the hospital overnight. Csn we have a damn break from heartache please?!
