We use AmEx almost exclusively. We have the clear card for every day purchases...gas, groceries, etc... My wife pays that off every month. We'd rather use that than a debit card so at least we have protection if something happens. Plus, we get points back, and use those for gift cards at Christmas. We can knock out a large swath of her family with those.

I mean King explained the jacket thing, but a bunch of guys standing around looks like a break. If they had their jackets off, would we be so sure they’re not on a break?

Just ask yourself for a second, why would these guys be taking their designated break outside in the cart/trolley bay in the carpark? They are taking a break alright, one they shouldn't be taking. If they had their jackets off, it would just be 3 guys hanging around the bay. We wouldn't know they are employees and wouldn't be talking about it.

Well, the new debit card is coming into the mail in a couple of days. It's just this experience makes me want to look into a few things when it comes to credit cards.

So I have jury duty today. First time in a bit, but they've changed things since covid. It's virtual now. So I had to log into a zoom meeting at 7:30, they played a video... which was the same one I saw last time I had to attend in person, and then said I need to check my email every 30 minutes the rest of the day to see if I'm called. I always found this such an odd procedure, but at least being home I can get some stuff done instead of being in that basement auditorium bored out of my mind all day.

I'm actually supposed to find out next week about my new salary and job title. It's a change across the board for the company since we got bought but we've been told everyone is going to be getting a raise. I would be super happy if it 8k to my salary, but I'm guessing it will be closer to 4 or 5k. The real cool news about that is that we'll start getting stock options too, that's got me real excited because the stock here is one that holding would be beneficial to my overall wealth in the long term.
