Yup, the weather ain't helping my lazy attitude.

It rained pretty hard this morning but it's since cleared up. I detailed my car but now I'm chilling watching some football. Might open up some of this cider.

Welp

Today marks our last day at this account.

Thank fucking God.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I just need to finish packing the rest of our shit into my Prius, and then deal with getting the final Payroll (including tracking down people for their uniforms) done and get people's checks out to them between now and Monday.

Then the real fun part begins. Figuring out what my new position REALLY entails. I say that because they (my bosses) are still trying to piece together everything that I will be doing.

Also means I get a raise tomorrow :JayOctavarium:

You getting any time off between the job changes or do you start Monday?

and fml, I thought my work travel was done after next week.  Boss left me a message (he's in Singapore) saying he wants me to go to Denver again in December ugh I definitely thought I was going to be home all December besides having vacation time.  I said I'd go, but I have 8 days I need to burn so I'm taking a full week off before or after going there.  I'm way too tired just thinking about it and I only have Saturday off this week plus I could be stuck working till very late tonight thanks to our shitty vendor.   :censored  I've been launching hate mail all day yesterday and this morning towards them for not just resolving these issues now and waiting until midnight.

No time off. I was going to try to wiggle my way out of working tomorrow, but I need to go down there to unload all the shit from this office, do the final payroll for this account, pick up my company laptop, and swap out for what is going to my -My- assigned vehicle. The car I am driving right now has a stupid lightbar  ontop, and is badged "Security". The car I am getting just has a company logo and that's it.

That was a fun Halloween. Was at bowling... Fire broke out in the county. My place is like less than a mile out of the evacuation zone.  Should be okay outside of a worst case scenario, but contacted my boss and let know I will need to be home just in case. I dont want to be 2 hours away with a fire burning a few miles from my home. Especially with my GF not there today (work) and my animals home.

Was up all night listening to scanners and following a few HAM radio peeps on Twitter.

The fucker is at almost 9k acres at zero containment.

Jesus H man.  that's f'n awful.  You guys get fires, we got winds and flooding.  Lake Erie is up 15 feet from the storms we had last weekend and last night.  Neighbour had a 50 ft evergreen tree (albeit, dead) fall on my yard overnight, taking out one section of the fence I just had erected in May.     Power was out from 10 last night 'til just about an hour ago.

Tons of damage all over, but the coastline (which I'm only about 1 mile from) got hammered.

Mrs.jingle told me that last week's, and last night's were the remnants of whatever tropical storms/hurricanes were floating across the Atlantic recently.  Which would explain why so much of the northeast felt it.

Sounds legit, just been one dark and dreary week.  Glad it's just about over.  I need to do laundry and pack back up tonight, tomorrow I've got to babysit my nieces again and then going to see Sabaton/Hammerfall in NYC before my flight Sunday morning.  Going to try and relax as much as I can tonight as next week is shaping up to be another busy one from the west coast where at least the weather will be a huge improvement.

But if you're into that kind of thing it can make for a very satisfying relationship.

At least you are feeling better.

I lost my phone lats night  :censored and flew out to LA this morning, thank god I have a work phone so I guess this is now my primary.  Might just cancel my Verizon phone service all together and go a different route for my next phone.  Either way, this day light savings stuff pisses me off and totally messed with my head this morning (and still now, as changing time zones, losing an hour, and being super tired just makes telling time really difficult).

I wish I could use my company phone. It's an iphone but it's has a management profile set by our company which means all it can do is call and text messages. You cannot even send iMessages and the only browser on the phone is the companies approved web browser that funnels everything through our firewall.

My GF's future stepmother was grilling me a few weeks ago on why I would be given a company phone but not allowed to use it for personal use. She just could not comprehend it. Honestly, I wouldn't want my primary personal phone to be controlled by my employer. Sounds like it could turn into a pain in the ass.

I think they are having second thoughts about letting me hang on to this phone. Honestly I DON'T have unlimited data on my phone plan (yay old cheap plans), and will need data while doing what I'm going to be doing, so I need something. Hotspot at the minimum.

My work phone has an app built into it that acts like a security shield for my work email.  It otherwise is unlocked for me to use as needed.  So I loaded all my apps on it and whatnot, it's almost like an upgrade over my old phone as it's hardly used and works well (both were S9s).  Having said that, I'm not sure the long term prospect of just using it, but I may just go with it for a bit. We will see.  Also, it has unlimited data although I get put on a report to managers if I use more than 10G so while there is no "punishment" it does look a bit bad.  Either way, my old phone had 3G of data and that was enough for me so hitting 10G seems unlikely although I did have to rely on it's hotspot a bit for actual work.  I've been put on the list before for business travel, which I can at least explain.

I have a work phone and a personal phone, and I would not DREAM of getting rid of either one.  Full disclosure, I work for a French company, and they are rather draconian with their security on the computer side (I was not allowed to even have access to load a PRINTER that wasn't a work-installed network printer, and my boss - a VP and officer in the company - didn't have juice to change that; thankfully an IT guy with a taste for Jersey Mike's didn't see the harm).   Especially when I was between marriages, I just didn't want/need the scrutiny.  It's not that I've bookmarked Pornhub or anything, and I'm certainly not big into forward pics of my block and tackle, but if my jerk college friends wanted to send a stupid joke, or if the girlfriend - now wife - wanted to spice things up with a photo or two, it's my prerogative, not my company's.

I've got a work issued phone, but my own phone number.  There's a vmware agent on there that segments off the work stuff, and truthfully most of our stuff is outside the firewall and just requires a single authentication login.

For the first month I was with the company, I carried my own phone and the work one, but I got fed up real quick carrying 2 devices - so I just ported my phone number to the work device.

I'm certainly not big into forward pics of my block and tackle

This was the first question my boss asked me about my lost phone.  Was there anything like this on it  :rollin purely joking since a personal phone and not relaly any of his business but just kind of funny, and no, I don't have any "naughty' pictures on my phone.

Actually thinking about it more, my UBS port was broken on my phone and I could only charge it wirelessly, if someone has it, it likely died by Sunday morning and they couldn't figure out how to charge it (unless they happened to have a wireless charger which is kind of rare).  I hadn't seen any activity on my account so I think that all seems likely.  I suspended my Verizon account but sadly I can't remote wipe it since I had turned off location services and pretty much anything that could drain the battery (I was actually relying on my work phone that night since I was out for awhile and of fear my phone would be dead before my train ride home to listen to music).  I owe Verizon $160 in payments on that phone.  That hurts the most here, but overall, besides that initial panic, this was not as bad as it could have been.

Welp

Turns out my bosses aren't ready for me yet. But hey, we have an account in Burbank that is getting closed down that needs help so I'm stuck there 4 days (2 swings and 2 Graves) a week. Plus 1 day a week in Pasadena.

Not happy about it but I'll stick it out until the account closes at the end of Nov.

And back on the Work Phone discussion... The phone I was supposed to be getting (S10e) wound up being used to replace a dead phone at one of our accounts. So I'm stuck with a 4 yr old Moto Droid Turbo 2. I'm honestly not upset... As I'm going to be using it for pretty much phone calls, navigation, and a mobile Hotspot. I'm more annoyed at the fact that it doesn't charge via USB-C.

Burbank for the rest of the week.

12 hour shift today :(

Graveyards and swing shifts starting tomorrow.

My account manager, who I report directly to, was trying to get me to work Graves on Wed and come back for a swing in Thurs. That's literally getting off at 7am and coming back and 3pm. It's a 1.5 hour drive. Fuck. That. Noise.

More bitching. Sorry peeps lol.

The supervisor at this location, who doesn't handle scheduling, was really confused on why they put me on graves and put another employee, who normally works graves, on swing shifts.

Looks like homie pitched a fit to get pulled off of night shifts. If this is true, I am going to play the seniority card to have homie put back on nights, because fuck that. I wasn't supposed to be working on post as a uniformed guard in the first place... let alone stuck working nights. Funny enough, as I was sitting here fuming about this, my best friend, who got a job working at an insurance company doing quotes for recreational vehicles, called me to tell me they were still hiring. I'm probably overreacting but it really does leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Can't wait to be back in my bed tonight, this week flew by though and had some good nights out here in LA.  BUT, I really do miss being home and I'm sure my cat misses me as well.  Sadly, I was told I need to go back to Denver in December and I need to book it today  >:( At least its a month away so that's not too bad and I can end this streak of every other week being on the left side of the country.  Really was starting to mess with my sense of time.
