That blows. I mean that's cool if you love your job and all. I have worked plenty of holidays over the years, but at least we are closed on Christmas.
I've had to do refrigeration checks on the store on Christmas. That wasn't been a big deal. When my kids were small, they'd fuck around on the intercom and keep themselves occupied. For a number of years, my store was 5 minutes from my inlaws, which we were going to anyway.

I've worked Christmas before, it's no fun. Actually the one year I had to cover Christmas Eve was the worst because that's when my family really does our get together.

Anyway, had to be in for 6am today for a network turn up call, going to be a long day

I've worked every Christmas for the last 6 years. But in my case Christmas is a chill shift... and I am usually working with a close friend... so it works.

When I had the hotel I worked almost every Christmas. It was always an easy day to work, not much going on.

When I worked at Boston Market in high school, I worked a Thanksgiving and it was one of the busiest days of that job. I'm sure RJ is making so much food for Christmas meals that it's super busy.

I'll bet he gets all the hell holidays from a hotel off now. I suspect the Lyft offices are just a skeleton staff on the holidays. No more Mother's Day, Easter brunch, Valentine's Dinner ....

They're closed, all federal holidays are paid days off.

And yes, our holiday brunches at the hotel were brutal, $150 a head, usually around 500 people, and very extravagant. Intense days, I won't miss them.

Going to be blobbing today, I did some yard work yesterday for the first time in awhile.... might have a nice big fire tonight off all the trees I trimmed down

. Got all these vines growing along my back fence that I just went to town on so now have tons of dead wood piling up. I need a new chainsaw too...

G'morning all. Head is a little fuzzy from a beer bottleshare at a friend's last night, but can't complain too much. Brewed yesterday and brewing again today. I should get started soon so I can be all cleaned up and ready to relax and enjoy Wrestlemania tonight.

Indeed. We were planning on redoing the basement anyway, but this sort of forces our hand, at least on a lot of it.

It's a bit of a one-two punch as well, had some pooling from a blockage in the sewer main, got that cleared (it seemed to be mostly lint from the washing machine), but now suddenly something went sideways with the standpipe from the washing machine, so we're getting pooling from that. Unamused, especially since we are leaving for vacation on Thursday.

Woke up to a new 311 song (and another one to be released in an hour) and after loving the DT show two nights ago, today I get to go again with my college roommate and best bud that I only get to see a handful of times a year now. I'm going to leave work a bit early to get into the city to chill beforehand and catch up. Feeling good this morning

Yea definitely going for a modern sound that will turn people off. I think I'll enjoy it more after a few listens but I can already tell the fanbase wont accept it just like they didnt accept till the city's on fire from the last album, which I really enjoyed but that song got a lot of hate for being more modern pop sounding.

Enjoying my first normal 'weekend' in who knows how long. It's strange, but at least I got to be a part of the whole happy Friday thing for a change. Now I just got to figure out how to sleep in on the weekends since I'm now waking up at 3:40 to head to work. 5:15 and I was up and alert on this fine Saturday morning

Went to see DT last night in NYC. Tonight I am off to the PA show. Scored a seat in the pit.

I gotta say, I must be the only wife who has to beg and plead her husband to go with her to see DT. He didn't come with me last night, and he's not going tonight.

Welcome back... you know the one time I took a non-DT fan significant other to a show, it just wasn't as exciting (other than that was the show I got to meet the band), but she just wasn't into it. I'd much rather go with my bro or fellow local DTFers who are gonna rock out with me. One of my best experiences was when J-Boy, FieryWinds, Bosk and some others were together for the self titled show.

Thanks! Yeah I feel ya on that! I dragged him to see his first DT show during the IaW shows, and we walked out. They were having an off night. Not good for him.

Going alone (and getting last minute tickets) means I get the decent leftover single tickets, and don't feel bad about staying out late.
