Is it strange that as I get older, I'm disappointed in the taste of pumpkin in anything?  You see these fall seasonal treats and drinks in bakeries like pumpkin smoothies and the likes and I think, "Oooo, this sounds promising." and then I try it and I go, "Oh, it's ok, I guess.  Not extraordinary."

From the point I was 18 until my late 20's, I use to get random people come up to me to tell me "Hey you look like the green ranger". I never saw the resemblance myself but who am I to question random people

Not strange at all, our taste palates change over time. It's how as I gotten older I can't stand overly sweet stuff. Gone are the days where I would enjoy white chocolate, caramel lattes, and the sort. I never been a fan of pumpkin flavored stuff though.

Powdered mashed potatoes from a bag are nasty.  Not in a good way.

I have a wife for that!  Seriously, she makes great mashed, and *she* is the one absolutely opposed to powdered vegetables.  I could probably tolerate it, but thankfully don't have to.

My wife is a great scratch cook, but I must admit, I love instant potatoes.

I never make instant potatos, but I have enjoyed them in the past.  I made mashed potatos this past weekend, other than taking awhile to boils the potatos, it's pretty simple to make.  I don't have kids though, im sure if I did, I would be using a lot more "instant" recipes.

Instant potatoes are fine, especially with a bit of cheese and butter in them. If I'm just cooking for myself, I'll happily go that route versus messing up the kitchen further.
