The whole thing is like a love letter to the instrumentation/arrangements of 70's funk, soul, and R&B, like Stevie Wonder, The Isley Brothers, Sly & the Family Stone, and Earth Wind & Fire, but with modern touches and lyrics.

It's just gorgeous.

This particular thread doesn't move the way it used to, but yeah... there's still quite a few old-time regulars still kickin around. Occasionally, new folks find their way over to GD from the DT-side... otherwise, I have no idea how many new posters this site attracts. I rarely venture over to DT side.

My over the stove microwave "died" over the summer when I accidentally started a fire in my pan underneath it that seemed to have burnt the button panel. I went 2 months without a microwave because I was so lazy to replace it. Then I lost power and when it came back, the microwave suddenly worked. This was right before I was about to buy a new one. I was so happy.

Those two months without a microwave sucked though, you forget how convenient having one is. I was constantly reheating things in the oven.

I do the same, for some reason I almost never drink the full cup at once and need at least 1 reheat and occasionally 2. This did suck while not having a microwave but I would just make another cup.

The last place I rented before I moved in with the future Mrs. Cool Chris didn't have a microwave. I was there for a couple years too. I just got used to not owning one. Looking back, I honestly don't recall what I ate. I was working on eating less after a decade of unhealthy eating, so that helped. I think I just baked a bunch of frozen meals in the oven or made sandwiches. I don't think I ate out or got take-out much as I was trying to lose weight. And I never drink hot beverages so never needed coffee/tea reheated.

Same... so I invested in a $25 cup warmer. Well worth it. Then again, I'm a desk worker, so it's easy and convenient. You probably move around a lot more than I do.

I totally don't mind cold coffee. I never reheat it.

It stems from when my coffee drinking first started... I'd come home from school freshmen year of high school and kill off the coffee still sitting in the coffee pot from my parents' morning coffee. Drank it cold with a shit ton of sugar in it. It's funny... My stepmother didn't like me drinking coffee, but I'm pretty sure my dad liked the fact that I'd rinse the pot and shit and have it ready for the next morning so he didn't have to deal with it.

I didnt drink coffee until around 30 years old. I got my caffiene fix from soda, when I gave that up, I started drinking coffee. And I would add cream and sugar to it. Adding cream and sugar is also the only way I'd drink cold coffee. Like those starbucks drinks that are super tasty. Eventually I got myself off the sugar and cream/milk from hot coffee, but still can't drink it black cold.

There's a difference between iced coffee, and coffee that's gone cold. If it's so old that it's cold, it's shit.

I didn't know any better when I was 14

I rarely drink hot coffee now. Iced coffee is life.

I will occassionally drink coffee that is less than hot, or maybe even room temperature. I don't like it, because I drink coffee for "the hot", not the taste. I find "Iced Coffee" to be undrinkable (though I like unsweet iced tea a lot).

I also don't drink coffee with any sweeteners. I do drink with milk, though.
