I'm really surprised about OAMOT and not at all about Blind Faith. This also marks my 25th year of being surprised that people like Lie and The Mirror -- in this case enough that neither song has yet lost.

Perhaps the most baffling thing about the results thus far is that New Millennium is 6-1.

The Mirror is the song that, after four months of listening to it, made me realize that Dream Theater was cool and started the avalanche effect that turned me into a fan.

New Millennium is my 3rd favorite track from FII. That song is amazing, and the breakdown is absolutely goosebumpy.

The Mirror has always been a top 10 DT track from the day I heard it. Its only achilles heel is that it is attached to Lie, which is really not good.

We've only made it through a quarter of this "league's" "season," so things will likely change rather significantly over the remaining 26 weeks. That said, of the songs you listed, the four I'd take are Along for the Ride, Outcry, Sacrificed Sons and either Lost Not Forgotten or The Root of All Evil.

I’m really not too surprised. HK is a very well-liked and classic DT instrumental. I don’t think Outcry has reached that level of popularity. Don’t think it matters what album they’re on.

I know that it depends on the pairing, but I'm surprised that Blind Faith and S2N are up there in the lead.

It looks also like the "black shirts" (last ones) group is consistent, I wonder if some of those songs will ever get a win, maybe when paired against each other... or if they could score a win against the ones with just one victory.

I'm surprised S2N is undefeated (also a little surprised about TTT). Not at all surprised by Blind Faith.

As far as the winless group, I suspect A Rite of Passage You Not Me and Light Fuse and Get Away will each get a win or two eventually (even Repentance has managed three wins!). The rest of that group consists of tracks from TA, FII rejects, False Awakening Suite, Regression and Raw Dog. I would expect those songs will only get wins if they're matched against each other.

Agreed. Blind Faith is a masterpiece.

I am surprised at how some of the TA songs are faring against each other though. For instance, I can't believe that Moment of Betrayal is wallowing in the depths alongside a stinker like Hymn of a Thousand Voices. Also surprised that Begin Again and My Last Farewell are down there with 2285 Entr'act. Probably just speaks to how the better songs off of TA stack up against the rest of the catalog... which in turn, make me confounded to see A Life Left Behind tied with Stream of Consciousness (for instance). Very interesting!

I would say that S2N and Trial of Tears stand a better than average chance of being defeated by any number of songs (same for The Mirror, which, while not in the 1.000 tier, remains bafflingly undefeated). The rest of the songs aren't likely to lose unless they are matched up against each other
