Blind Faith and Octavarium slide down, leaving the 4 giants at the top more and more on the lead!

And 4 are also on the bottom, now the only "black shirts" songs are an instrumental never appeared on an album, an intro half spoken, a short interlude and a leftover from FII. The first three are kinda "excused" given the nature of the songs, it's Where are you Now that is the most complete song of them all (regular lenght with vocals) and yet failed to win whatever passable match came at it.

We also see a bunch of song desperately clinched to the 64h and last remaining slot... and I'd gladly sacrifice them all for some songs coming right behind such as The Silent Man, A Better Life and Behind the Veil.

With how close the 64th-place area is, it does feel like there will still be playoff berths to play for when we reach Week 35. And we're agonizingly close to getting what will possibly be The Astonishing's only Finals representative in A New Beginning. As for the latest album, Distance Over Time, we already have three guaranteed entries, with a further three currently above the 64th-place tier, and one right in that group. We could have potentially seven D/T songs in the Finals.

Wow! just two songs qualified, but a big bunch of other got eliminated!

I hope that A Better Life, Behind the Veil and The Silent Man pull through somehow. The places in the middle should be more volatile - it's the top that, once lost, is harder to climb back, when are Blind Faith and Octavarium, for example, gonna climb back some positions? when Scarred and Six Degrees lose a match, easier said than done.

Another example is The Mirror, which I'm fond of because it's the song that started the avalanche effect of making me interested in DT - after having a losing streak it managed to start win match after match again, and yet it doesn't climb back more than its position because basically all the songs above win as well.

Octavarium can't shake off the losses it has, so at best it will finish 33-2. I guess the only way it can move "up" to joint-2nd is if there are no 1-loss songs at the end of the season, meaning we jump from 35-0 to 33-2.

Man, the Astonishing songs have really had a hard time, looks like A New Beginning is the only one currently in the top 64. I'm not the biggest fan of the album and I know lots really hate it, but some of the individual songs are great and it's a bit of a shame to see some of the best ones so low. I wonder if that could be partly down to some voters not having heard certain songs that often because they never listen to the whole album at all, since they dislike it that much. Though I suppose you could say something similar about the non-album tracks and maybe WDADU too.

Indeed, I figured that A Better Life, Ravenskill and When your Time has Come (classic DT ballad, I daresay better than Along for the Ride) could have a chance of being considered "normal" songs, but evidently only A New Beginning's solo could be the reedeming factor of the song, and of the album as a whole it seems...

(I don't even like ANB that much, but the solo section carries the song as far as consensus goes)

The entire Images and Words album has qualified - in the same round that it took ONE song from The Astonishing to qualify. D'uh.

Behind the Veil, The Silent Man and A Better Life are all songs I want to qualify and prevail over those from the 60th place downard (The Bigger Picture excluded), but they're 2 victories behind and there's only 4 rounds left.......

I'm a little bit surprised that Wait for Sleep has as good a record as it does (23-8). It's a fantastic track, probably the best of their sub-3-minute tracks, but still, it is only 2:31. It must have beaten a good number of more substantial tracks. Good on it!
