I'm surprised at how many WDADU songs have a sub-.200 winning percentage.  Everything else in that category appears to be right where it belongs.  Still amazed that The Mirror only has one loss.  Hopefully, loss #2 comes this week at the hands of Finally Free.

As I previously said, I wonder how many songs could be realistically still considered running for the top 64. I don't think any song beyond the 80th position have any chance, and those in the .447 range have a hard road in front of them already (they're 3 victories behind).

Needless to say, I disagree about The Mirror, but my status in the minority is pretty obvious.

As for the other songs, I think it really depends on what their competition has been to date and what the upcoming schedule is.  I'm not sure if DOC has mapped this out ahead of time or whether schedules are generated weekly, but I think there's still a reasonable possibility for some big moves.  Take Ytse Jam for example.  If I remember correctly, it was winless for the first several weeks, but now it's 8-11, so there's no reason it couldn't go on another run -- particularly if it gets matched against a bunch of TA songs (I think only one of which is currently in the top 64) and FII rejects (none of which are even in the top 99).  If my quick math is right, those two chunks of poor performers make up over 20% of the songs in the competition.

Yes, unfortunately the only realistic way to make sure all matches are fair is to have a poll of every possible matchup but of course that is entirely impossible due to time and space constraints. I think the two biggest surprises for me are Another Day being 17-2 so far, and Light Fuse and Get Away is 0-19.  The latter one has had some close matches the past few weeks, but seems to lose by 1-3 points every time.

The match-ups are completely random and generated all at once before the season starts. Sure we could do 151 weeks and have every song face every song. But what we're doing here is for entertainment purposes not so much finding the definitive ranking from 1-152.

Besides, we all know there's only 4-5 songs with a legitimate chance to win it all.

In an ideal world, the burden of a total and complete matchups of every song all against all should fall on a computer, with us partecipants logged on a platform and voting all together.

I admit I fantasized about it for previous survivors, how would it be to be all logged to the same platform and voting continously thanks to a computer

Besides, we all know there's only 4-5 songs with a legitimate chance to win it all.

I’d say just four: Metropolis, Learning to Live, A Change of Seasons, and Octavarium. Breaking All Illusions always dominates in the regular season, but it can never get past the four aforementioned songs in the playoffs. Until it can take one of those songs out in the playoffs, I feel it can’t be considered a contender (which is a shame because I like it more than Metropolis and Learning to Live).

EDIT: I honestly think this is Learning to Live’s year anyway. Once it took down Octavarium (the defending champ of the past three Leagues) in week one, it’s been running through the competition, and unless it matches up against Metropolis or A Change of Seasons, I don’t see any really possibility of it taking a loss.

I still think BAI has more of a chance than 8VM.  Not so sure about Metro, LTL & ACOS though.  Hoping that BAI takes it all this year.  It would be well deserved.

EDIT: I honestly think this is Learning to Live’s year anyway. But once we get to the knockout stages, anything can happen. 35-0 means nothing if it gets eliminated in the semi-finals.

The Bigger Picture had a victory and still it didn't move from its slot, tethering on the edge of the 64th slot... granted, it all depends on what the songs above do, if they all win, a victory from behind doesn't change the rankings, but it shows that it's getting harder and harder for the songs behind to come back.

Nice to see At Wit's End survive a stern challenge from The Mirror. Just checked back to find AWE's only defeat, and (perhaps surprisingly) it was to Lifting Shadows off a Dream, 19-17. I thought it might have been to one of the five Immortals, but nope...

Yeah, the top dogs are all on a winning streak so that when someone loses, it falls quite hard - The Mirror went from 7th to 30-ish or so... it's the songs behind that seem to have a lot of catchup to do; the positions around the 64th and last available slot for the finals are spreading thin and fewer and fewer songs seem to be able to catch up.

I still think that The Silent Man is the last song that could have hopes of making the cut, but I'm starting to think that I'm being optimistic and that even just being two victories behind is starting to become a big gap.

I keep saying that the Silent Man group is the last one with hopes of entering the Top 64, but it keeps staying behind. The Bigger Picture however is finally putting itself at veeeery relative safety, and Ravenskill is just hanging there.

I'm having a look at Blind Faith. 22-0 so far this year. In 2016, it went 4-15-1, although that was with the Division format in play, competing in Division 1 against all top-tier songs. In 2014, the last year without divisions, it finished 17-2-1, which is a bit closer to this year's record.
