King's X
« on: February 22, 2019, 08:38:05 AM »
Wow, no thread about them yet...?

Anyway, just started reading the newly released biography (https://www.amazon.com/Kings-X-History-Greg-Prato/dp/1911036432/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1539097901&sr=8-1&keywords=King%27s+X+book) after being a fan for quite long (seen them the first time live finally in 1999 and latest in 2011).
More than 300 pages long and filled with interesting interviews, mostly with the band members.
Here's hoping for them to return to Germany - such a great live band and nice people, with quite some influential albums.

Keep prog alive - see it live!

I would recommend Dogman next. They got pretty big with that record. A little heavier, but still the incredible harmonies.

King's X was WAY ahead of its time. Just an incredible trio. Such a HUGE sound from three guys, different then say Rush, but not different in a bad way. Just a more booming sound. And that three-part harmony. Man...

re: The book - started reading it last night. So glad they finally got that out there.

Yeah, Dogman is the one you should absolutely listen to.
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

I love everything they did until Dogman. I can't find the other albums to download in lossless.
