Disclaimer: I know some of you guys thought there was some new Beyond the Bridge information when you saw this new post. There isn't. Sorry about that.

So, fans of Beyond the Bridge, seeing how they've only got one album up still (and seeing how I tried to send them in every roulette I'm in to convert more people), would anyone be interested in voting in the quick and short Beyond the Bridge survivor to determine the best song from The Old Man and the Spirit? If we get more than five people, I'll fire it away, if not, I'll just go ahead and run the full-fledged Kamelot survivor.

Regardless of how many people we get, I think it won't hurt to state once more that this album is so amazing. Progressive metal perfection and it doesn't grow old regardless of how many times I listen to it.

Thank you mike and Scorp!

Obviously though, two people is not enough to make this work, so I'll give this thread one last bump, wait a few more days before abandoning this idea and moving on to the survey regarding the upcoming Kamelot survivor.

I love the album but it's one of those albums where I can't rank songs. Each song is written to serve a purpose and create a flow.

I agree, but then again, that's why it was going to be so fun.

Holy Crap. Just discovered this band/album on Spotify yesterday. Instantly one of my all time favorites. Bummed to learn that it was pretty much a one and done for this band, but holy crap what an amazing album.

Funny, I was just spinning it for the first time in a long while, and had to PM RJ (whom I'm sure was the one the pimped it on me).

Welcome to the party.

I'm still spinning this album every couple of months or so. Still one of my favourite concept albums ever.

I've always felt at odds with Circus Maximus naming their 3rd album Nine. But now I get it. It spent Nine years as my favorite album from 2012, but this gem is significantly better.

I guess I should finally do a roulette so I can see what else I've been missing out on.

When I start my top 50 Concept Albums thread (planning to do it in Jan), it will represent rather high.

Anything with Damien Wilson is a chore to get through.

I remember the DTF circle jerk around this album was legendary.

Lol.  Poor Damian Wilson copping it when he doesn't even sing on the album.

Yeah the praise was incredible.  I've tried many many times but never got it.  Meh.

This is a great concept.

I enjoy the somber songs of Spring of It All and World of Wonders. The latter being a beautiful ballad worthy of radio play.

The concept ending with "All A Man Can Do" is

It's certainly a good record but not the absolute masterpiece that some claimed it to be at the time when it came out.
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

This is approximately my take on it. I like it, but it's not among my favorite albums.
