only had time for one album listen tonight so picked a chill on

on one hand i like how this sounds, on the other hand, basically every song sounds pretty much the same, just different melodies but really similar overall vibes. i don't, like, mind it and it could be a grower (apocalypse kinda was) but i could also see this being the kind of full-album experience that bores me on repeated listens

I agree. It grew on me for sure, but at the end of the day its somewhat limited. An excellent rainy-day album for drifting off, but not necessarily for active listening.

Yeah the majority of my listening tends to be active listening, I have enough ambient/drone albums for when I need some background noise anyways

mmm most of this isn't really much like the one song on it i really like. a few songs i didn't like at all, some songs that were just okay, overall didn't find it too compelling though, just gonna take the one song i like and leave the rest on this one

the coheed comparison kind of holds up but they aren't as bombastic as coheed tends to get, this does sound kind of a little thin overall really. i liked it and will at least revisit it but most of it is a lot more straightforward than i'd have hoped and the ending is a little weird too, that last song just kind of... goes on

fun & neat little album, yeah. i uhh. don't have a ton to say about this or really any of the others i spun today in part because i've been kinda distracted all evening and just putting music on in the background but i liked this

this one especially i had to like, pause in the middle of it and go out to do something and then i came back and was kind of distracted but like. this is the kind of black metal that's right up my alley anyways, definitely at least a relisten, seemed to be decently diverse too

technically this is an EP not an album but w/e. anyways. not quite as up my alley as the last one but i still liked this too. sorry the album reviews are cruddy today i've had A Day, to say the least lol

oops did one more

i sort of did this one because i was tired and was expecting to not be too into it but there's actually a lot of cool stuff here. don't like retch at all though and the closer, hadal, is kinda dull too and i suspect my initial reaction to this album was because of how dull i found the closer and that was my last impression so i was like "ahh the entire album must've been all/mostly boring sludge" but it's not. i don't like the tone of the really downtuned guitars though, that's pretty consistent throughout, but they have a pretty solid grasp of melodies and dynamics, at least for most of this. might follow up on it, might not, depends on how much of a dealbreaker i find the two tracks i'm not so keen on
