Very glad you enjoyed it.

I can see why someone would find some djent in Omni, but I would have said it's more an element that's been included as a flavor they can use rather than something that's really prevalent.

both the EPs I have so far break the 40 minute barrier by over half a minute

i have less EPs this round anyways so ehh i'll allow it but 41+ minutes is flat out

Preparing my ep. Will send tomorrow. Im glad (and surprised!) that you enjoyed Bill Callahan as much as you did. It definitely is mood music. Not as surprised about Cigarettes After Sex. I crushed on them really hard for a while.

it's just really amusing to me that i'm probably gonna get that atoma album but neither the arcane nor breaking orbit albums, off puppies' first EP

i have 4 albums on my revisit list and then i'll probably get to the new stuff after that, so it might actually not be until the weekend since thursday night a lot of new stuff i wanna check out is dropping

right now 5 albums on my list of "very likely" purchases (Existem, Arms and Sleepers, Phoebe Bridgers, Jason Isbell, Atoma) and two more i need another relisten to (Kingcrow, Bon Iver) to really tell (which i guess out of 36 different artists doesn't sound that fantastic but i got like, a dozen at most albums out of my last roulette period 'cause of how few artists i was sent overall (another big part of why i ain't ever gonna do another album roulette, variety suffers))
anyways i'm looking forward to getting to these EPs tho, probably will start friday to ensure i have everything listened by sunday and we can dual-wield impressions and hangman

I'm going to stick with the original one. I spent a bunch of time earlier this week going through songs and trying to decide if I should change anything, but nothing seemed right. You probably won't enjoy this one as much as Angra, but hopefully there will still be some songs that you like.

also, some albums from the last round!

i guess this is the structural disorder of this roulette, in that it's a cool album from last year that i passed on the first time i listened to it, but is actually way up my alley? i do think the song you sent was indeed the best of them but front-to-back i found the album pretty solid and decently diverse too, i'm certainly looking forward to revisiting it & likely purchasing it

ooooh yeah this is the kind of black metal album i want more of, decisively album-focused rather than song focused and i love the use of guitar drone ambience to bridge the tracks together. as well the "downtempo sludgy black metal" i commented on being absent on the first song is present elsewhere on the album so that's the full course meal of black metal right there. i dug the hell out of this though, only minor gripe is that the production could be a bit better & the vocals don't always sound that great but ehh minor, minor complaints at best

tomorrow i plan to go through all three angra albums. normally i wouldn't listen to the temple of shadows album but i'm curious in hearing it as a middle ground between the other two anyways & i suspect i'll still likely it well enough even if i wasn't wild about the one song

I figured you would dig White Tomb. After that album they basically started copying Deafheaven. Actually it's more like Deafheaven started copying Altar of Plagues' post White Tomb sound, since Altar of Plagues was doing it first with their Tides EP, but I digress.
