Abducted in plain sight (Netflix kidnapping documentary)

(1/1)

Phoenix87x:
Holy crap. If you want one wild ride of a kidnapping story, this is it.

Anybody else watch this?

gmillerdrake:
Haven’t seen this, looks interesting though.

But I’ll admit as a parent I always go through bouts of worrying after I read/watch stories of abduction. Such a freaking nightmare

Phoenix87x:
Oh I totally agree

In this particular case, imagine your child is rescued, but the abductor brainwashed your child into thinking they are in love with the kidnapper and now, all your child wants to do is get back to them, and this tears the whole family apart. Man oh man

And then, the kidnapper keeps calling every single day and showing up around the house harassing the family for years. The psychological damage this guy did to this girl is unreal.

If I was the kid's father, I would have lost my mind.

Unimaginable. I can’t guarantee that I wouldn’t severely harm that kidnapper....I’d like to think I’d keep it together and not do something dumb that’d take me away from my family....but, it’s hard to imagine. Emotions can be tricky....
