I think Earthrise and all the songs after it may suffer from the fact that the epic (The Architect) is placed in the middle of the album. Anything after that is viewed as lesser after what feels like the meat of the album has been had. Bands, put your epics at the end and have the album build up to that climactic cathartic moment of release.

Oh and the survivor is clearly fixed now. People have seen how Earthrise seems to be invincible and so they're voting other songs to keep that going. I'm telling you, it's going to be champion of the whole thing. I will be voting Earthrise for eternity.

Well, I personally like Bound by Gravity and The Endless Knot way better than the Architect. But now that you mention it, most of the epics I can think of are album closers. That is fairly interesting. In this particular case, I really like that the album closes with Bound by Gravity, it is a perfect album closer.

Nah. I don't know why people can't accept that people like the song. I would have voted for it to save Shapeshifter which is much better IMO, but otherwise I like it more than the other songs that it beat out.

I like everything after The Architect more than The Architect. Seriously, the second half of the album is absolutely superb, while in the first half it's only really 1985 that I find as strong.

Of those three, Streams is not as good to me but we didn't get to vote it against The Endless Knot or Pareidolia in the consolations, I would have vote Earthise if we had another round here.

True, funny how that worked out. I didn't think it would win and I wasn't necessarily rooting for it either, I think Endless Knot, Shape Shifter and Paraedolia were the best of this bunch.
