Well... my wife and family loaded me up this year (man I am spoiled beyond belief):
- S. King's new book and a bio book about him
Andy James Dunlop Flow picks (super smooth and effortless to play with)
JP's Dunlop Flow picks
Gruv Gear string dampeners
Workx switchdriver
Kobalt circular saw
Various gift cards to Amazon and Sweetwater
Guitar Man sculpture my wife had made for me
Hand made tortex pick with Maya's picture on it (our Husky that passed this year)
A putting machine that returns the ball to you if you make it (wife says it was a gag gift but I'll use it)
Oh yeah... almost forgot... JP150 Neptune Blue with a roasted maple neck AND PRS MT15 tube AMP (blew out my VOX valvetronics earlier this Fall and my wife heard me talking about upgrading). I'll upgrade the pups on the JP later on.
Talk about somebody getting more than they deserve; honestly I'm almost embarrassed by that list.
The gifts that mean more than anything else though are the extra time spent with my wife (both vertical, horizontal, and at other various angles
), the extra time spent with my family, great food (some made by me, some made by my wife), and time on the trail with friends. Also, I enjoy the goal setting for the coming year (for my new business as well as FRMC and other personal goals); guess that might be an odd one but I consider it a gift to have an incredible life and to be alive to live it!
I lost two very good friends this year; one to a farming accident (Will Walker-30) and of course Maya (13-yr old Husky). Will's loss was rough on the entire community that I live in because it was very sudden and tragic (Will and his wife had a new-born little girl) and of course was very rough on his family... but our little group of men miss Will terribly and I find myself thinking of him at odd times and in odd ways (had dreams about him and my father who has also gone on home). When you play basketball with someone two days a week (sometimes more) for more than 5-years, you get to know that person quite well and Will and I bonded over sports and over silly things as well (he and I both like Impractical Jokers and we dropped one-liners on each other all the time while playing ball).
I'm blessed beyond belief to be breathing and to live this incredible life!
