Did you REALLY think you could take Bosk1 in a fight?

What's in store for MorseFest in the future now that most of his solo albums (assuming Lifeline and Momentum are not getting played in their entirety) have been covered? The Great Adventure? Transatlantic or Flying Colors? A year off? Has it run its course?

Assuming Mike Portnoy has a large hand in writing your set lists, does he ever pick a song you aren't a big fan of, but you play anyway?

And along the same lines, do you ever have to insist on the inclusion of a song or two that he otherwise might not pick?

I've asked him this question before!

Why did you feel the need to record a sequel to TSOAD before recording a stand alone album? Was there unfinished business from TSOAD or did you have a "calling"?

Does he have a definitive favorite song to play, be it Spock’s, Transatlantic, NMB, etc?

Funny that you mention this. There's a couple of bids floating around Gillete's FB Forum page and Neal, MP and Eric sang a few Beatles songs. Wouldn't mind if this iteration of the NMB played/released a Beatles cover songs album (Kind of like YMC but with Eric and Bill)

Would you characterize yourself more as a post-tribulational premillennialist or (as I suspect) a progressive dispensationalist, as regards the relationship between the Church and Israel?

Does that mean that "Pornhub or Youporn?" isn't a good question?

That is best kept to P/R, but even if serious, what does it matter given that both views are dangerously false?

Oh, I agree with you.  I just thought it was a funny question.  I also think it would be funny to see the look on Neal's face if that were asked.

I would be stunned beyond belief if his answer to this wasn't Testimony (and possibly Testimony 2 as 1b), for obvious reasons.

Snow, maybe? (but, yeah, there's no way he's going to pick anything not named Testimony).
It sounds like, "ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk." Instead of the more pleasing kick drum sound of, "gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk."

So we got the album yesterday to prepare for the interview. I went to the gym for half an hour VERY late at night and brought a note book. Came back stronger and with fifteen questions about the album! I'll talk to Neal at lunch time today. Should be a great conversation...watch out for this one,  folks!

Thank you all for the questions. i tried to fit in as many as possible, and sometimes using a different angle to address the same issue. we spoke about how faith has affected his musical endeavours, addressed the tension in the recording of the follow up of Similitude - they were are each other's throats even more while coming to terms with the decision of recording a DOUBLE album following up a double album - and much more. I even asked if MP was concerned with the fact that once again a NMB release coincides with a DT release.

Interesting, regarding the tension this time around in making another double album; I was not aware of that.

Can't say I am surprised, though.  Making a record is, or at least should be, hard work, and with a band dynamic, it is impossible to always agree on everything.

I admire you for going in with some heavier questions. However, given Neal's peaceful nature, I can't think of a person who would answer such questions with more depth, logic and kindness. I'm looking forward to the interview.

Assuming Mike Portnoy has a large hand in writing your set lists, does he ever pick a song you aren't a big fan of, but you play anyway?

And along the same lines, do you ever have to insist on the inclusion of a song or two that he otherwise might not pick?

I've asked him this question before!
What was his answer?
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

He said that Mike is a genius when it comes to chosing setlists. And that sometimes he looks at MP's choices and scratches his head, but then after they play it he goes "you were right, Mike, this was a PERFECT choice!"

This was asked earlier this year, in this interview: https://lotsofmuzic.weebly.com/home/life-and-times-an-inspired-neal-morse-discusses-his-new-solo-album-and-his-other-endeavours-for-2018
