Out of the choices given:

AC/DC
Van Halen
Whitesnake
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

Rush and Sabbath were easy, and then I took AC/DC by just a hair over both Priest and Ozzy.

Blue Oyster Cult's Cultosaurus Erectus is the glaring omission for me; that would be my 2nd place album.

Great albums from that year that aren't hard rock/metal:

Peter Gabriel - Melt
XTC - Black Sea
Genesis - Duke
Talking Heads - Remain in Light

Quoted because of cool factor! Also, because I agree.

Rush
Sabbath
AC/DC

I too would probably have voted for BOC as well in place of either Sabbath or AC/DC
Winger would be better!

Rush
AC/DC
Iron Maiden

None of the rest even come close for me. British Steel and Blizzard of Oz are both classics, but not nearly as good as later efforts. (Diary is Ozzy’s(tm) masterpiece imo)

Animal Magnetism deserves an honorable mention, but that also gets overshadowed by the albums it’s sandwiched between.

Priest, Maiden, Sabbath. The unholy trinity of British metal  :metal
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

If you can't fit everything, you can at the very least put an "Other" option in the polls.

I hear you.  But, really, it serves no purpose in the poll itself.  You and others are free to post your "other" selections in the thread itself.  But for "other" to just comprise a group of various misc. albums doesn't really serve as any sort of valuable comparator as far as the poll votes.

Iron Maiden
British Steel

Tough choice between British Steel and Blizzard of Ozz (one of the first rock/metal albums that I ever bought), but gave it to British Steel.
